12 oz. bottle - Deep amber to black, pours nicely, flavor is of roasted malt, pretty tasty. This beer is drinkable but a little on the light side flavorwise.

Well, it could be a lot worse. Not bad when you’re on a budget.

Not really too much to this one, although it does have a strange drinkability. There is nothing that puts me off about it, other than it is just quite simple. Kind of a caramel maltiness, but not a lot of dark beer qualities, finishes with a hint of nuttiness, and bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - OCT 15, 2008
12 oz bottle via Fred Meyer. Pours a dark dark brown with a large tan head. Nose is toasted grains, nuts, chocolate. Tastes like it smells with some roastiness, and mild grassy hops in the finish. Body is light, carbonation is high. A sessionable easy drinking beer that tastes ok. Better than i expected from Henry.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 12, 2005
Behold, our dark lager. It tastes nothing like the Private Reserve. We swear! See that label, its a totally different color. No, the beer does not look and taste the same. See, right here, the label explicitly states this is a "Dark Lager." ITS A DARK LAGER, can’t you read?

This is really not so bad! And it is cheap too. I think they even put some malt in it.

some chocolatey roast, a little bit of caramel, nothing too special but drinkable.

This beer pours a ruby reddish color in the light with a slightly off tannish head and little to no lacing. Aroma is slight hops and a hint of malt, but relatively little there. Flavor is slightly hoppy in the finish, very little in the carbonation and very little in mouthfeel. Not unpleasant but a lot to be desired. Ironically not the dry malty finish I was expecting. Hints of an older stale chocolate. Drinkable but not very palatable.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2003 I actually liked this, especially for a Weinhards. Nothing really outstanding, just more of the same, only darker. A great transitional beer, but nothing to quench the stout lover"s thirst.

Bottle: con el aleman; realmente mi tipo son las que la malta predomina y luego entra el kick de hops - a lo ingles
At Coatepeque, Casta liked it, brown ale- like, almost porter to stout. profile. Surprisingly good!
