2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeaverBrown (245) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 24, 2003
Cloudy dark yellow with a small white head. Smells hoppy like a domestic. Taste hops and maybe some citrus, grapefruit. Taste to much like a domestic. Good summer beer though.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 dwyerpg (4067) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 24, 2003
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2009 Other than looking like a good hefe there is little good about this. Very wheaty, some Bud-like funk. Untasty.
First had this beer in 2003 and scored it a 3.7 Musty orange-brown. Definetely the best wheat beer I’ve had. Doesn’t upset my stomach like other wheat beers. Would get again.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerbumble (42) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 23, 2003
Fairly dark for a wheat beer. Great filmy orange color. Not much aroma. Good wheat taste. Not a bad beer.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2003
Not a bad hefe at all. Not overyly sweet and not overly citrusy (is that a word?) Both of which I think this brew could have used more of. I will still by Widmer though.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jedimasternick (96) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 19, 2002
It is about the same overall as Leinenkugels Honey Weiss Bier with a slight attempt to taste more like the true German Wheat beers.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 17, 2002
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2005 Very light haze, average head and lacing. In the nose there’s adjuncts, light wheat, barely any hops. They’re ripping off the hefeweizen name and the reinheinspebot law is spewing up distaste. Way downhill since the last time I had this.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerguy101 (5206) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 17, 2002
Medium gold color, slightly cloudy, small head. A light bodied hefeweizen. Mild malts and hops. Nice flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet, some residual carbonation.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 anticop (79) - Porterville, California, USA - AUG 26, 2002

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KingPinHead (390) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - MAY 22, 2002
Color a hazy golden-honey, with a decent feathery head. Aroma is slightly sweet, not immediately oweing to its malt or honey components, but consistent with its mildly sweet palate. Hops and carbonation are both light; finish is very slightly dry and tangy. This is very much an American-style effort on a commercial hefe, and it is rather better than I anticipated. I drank it both with and without a squeeze of lime--it was quite drinkable either way, the citrus somewhat counterbalancing its slightly sweet flavor bias. This is pretty good for a big-brewery product, and at a competetive price.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 drismyhero (815) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2002
This hef is nothing more than average. A bit similar to Pyramid’s. A good appearance - nice head and lace and golden in color, but jus lacking in taste. Well balanced, a bit on the malty side maybe and too sweet. I tried one of these with a lemon wedge in it to curb the sweetness, but that will only get you so far. Don’t cringe, it’s really not that bad, my friends do it with any hef. This is a good beer for the price (as is the case with any Henry) but nothing to write home about.
