2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Not a fan of this beer. Very middle of the road with slight flavors of hop and malt ... leans towards a vegetal flavor profile which to me is not very appealing. Cheap price for a cheap beer.

smooth lager, similar to many leinenkugel products, but not very special. good beer to just drink beer and not care much for taste

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
An early favorite of mine 20 (or more) years ago. I still like the floral aroma of the cascade hops to this day. Rather a mild easy drinking summer brew. Balanced flavor but a watery mouthfeel. It’s one of the best domestic macro’s out there.

I think the little man with wire-rimmed glasses typing away at this on-the-label description was a bit confused. I guess one’s perception of an ’ordinary beer’ is relative; however, this is the quintessential ordinary beer by my standards. Sits right in the middle of the beer spectrum. Ordinary appearance, ordinary malt/hop balance, you barely notice it on your palate. I’d compare Weinhards’ beers to Top Ramen: not great, not gross, just the best cheap stuff available. Ordinary.

Color is a lovely clear gold; head is creamy white and holds up quite well. Aroma smells pleasantly of hops, with a tangy overtone present as well. One tastes malt immediately, then a light hoppiness. Finish is clean, but the immediate flavor burst quickly tapers into oblivion. The balance and body of this beer is definitely thinner and less well-rounded since Miller purchased the old Portland landmark brewery and razed it, now producing the Henry’s brands in Tumwater. It is still OK, but the present version lacks the assertiveness of its previous Oregon incarnation.

Nothing much better than the standard US lagers, malt emphasis slightly souring sweetness in the finish. Name and label look promising while price is cheap but the beer is just MGD.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Clear gold color, creamy white head, decent lace, nose malt, the start is lightly malt sweet, the top thin, the finish is clean, lightly acidic and dry, some hops, but not something I like.

I had the Blue Boar Pale ale before I tried this one, but this one isnt bad! this is a good American Standard..It has a decent head, pleasing aroma, and smooth finish...no complaints here...other than I still like the Blue Boar Pale ale better!

Not bad for an American Standard, but it just doesn’t really do it for me.

Two ways to look at this beer. Either it’s a solid effort and is a great fallback when they run out of your first choice at the store. Or it’s a boring brew that isn’t really that exciting. I choose the first option.
