COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American Pale Lager, Henry Weinhard’s Private Reserve blends Henry’s German heritage with the natural ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. If you want to impress your friends, you can say it’s brewed with 100% Cascade hops specially grown in Oregon. But all you really need to know is that it’s crisp, clean and one helluva beer.

slightly less bright yellow than a corona with a medium sized head that fades down to nothing. Smells like water with a faint scent of sweetness thrown in. Has a watered-down, honey-like sweetness up front that fades into a kind of pool-water like flavor. (Yeah, that does sound gross.) I guess you could say it is better than a bud, miller, coors, but this beer kind of pisses me off. It is a bad beer that seems like the brewers try to dress with some flavor to gain acceptance in the micro world. This beer is pretty bad.

This is a nice beer but not a good German brew hence the Tumwater location.

Its cheap. Thats the only reason I know why to buy this beer. Enough malt and hops to let you know its not just fizzy yellow water, but not enough to be enjoyable. Way too carbonated.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2004 Another decent, but not great beer. The color and aroma are pleasant the taste is decent for a while but the aftertaste as many have mentioned is awful. The kick i was looking for just wasnt there.

the corvette of beers. mediocre at best, but consistant and the best you can get for the price. unfortunately, for me it doesn’t taste good enough to enjoy drinking and isn’t cheap enough to drink 15 and get happy.

This is ok -- a little heavy for most folks, and the aftertaste is something awful.
