Actually had some malt flavor. A little bit of sweetness as well. Tastes kind of like a beer with artificial redness added. PuckLSHS (101), USA

Must be just a different ratio of food colorings because it also tastes alot like those others. Ever had Liquid Smoke? Try the Amber, add a drop or two of concentrated smoke juice to simulate roasted malt...is this the same as the Amber? Throw in one hop bud, too. I'm confused. Whatever, read my ratings of the Amber or the Dark, this is about the same. Blah, but I'm not choking on it. Pretty watery finish. SDbruboy (1833), San Diego, California, USA

Pleasant sweet malty nose with some hops. Flavor is sweet, caramel, mild spice and bitter astringent. Light to medium body with good carbonation. A hearty lager with some character. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 30, 2002 This has some similarities to the approach of Weinhard’s Blue Boar Ale---a fairly light all-around profile but with discernible malt presence, which of course is rare for a macro-product...Naturally, this has a huskier feel to it, and is "coarser" than its direct competitor Killian’s, but that will be to the liking of many...Nothing really exciting going on here, but it is certainly more than a viable alternative to the general mass of "blah" mainstream offerings out there...
