COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Henry Weinhard's Summer Wheat Ale is brewed in Hood River, OR using locally grown Cascade Hops, roasted caramel malt and a touch of coriander and orange peel. The result is a crisp and refreshing filtered wheat ale with a hint of citrus spice and a clean, smooth finish

This beer has its place. If you like the orange flavor and aroma it is not a bad beer to drink on a hot summer day, which I think was their intention when they made it. I am not quite as critical as others here, and will enjoy the rest of my twelve pack. :)

Flat taste with wierd citrus-like mouth feel. Grainy and a lower than normal after taste body.

Strong artificial orange flavor in both the aroma and flavor. Also some grain and citrus. Pretty sweet beer, and not altogether enjoyable. Itís fairly drinkable I guess and it was cheap.

I compare all summer ales to Sierra Nevadaís Summerfest which is probably not fare, because this one would rate far below it. Not a bad beer, just not a terribly good beer. Little to no head with a LARGE taste of oranges. A strange beer indeed.

Light wheat aroma backed by light citrus. Some orange is noticeable as the glass approaches the lips. Orange tinted gold color with a substantive white head. Spicy. Orange peel indeed. Not quite medium bodied. A bit fizzy. The bitter comes forth lightly as the citrus oil fades - but it does not entirely fade. Damn refreshing, and quite excellent for a low price point ale. Perhaps the best of the HW litter.

To start off, this beer is not for everyone. Having said that it is a solid, though not stellar, brew. More an ale than a wheat beer, pours with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. the first impression is slightly watery with a hint of spice. Then the Orange flavour comes rushing in followed by a quick zip from the coriander. Taste lingers for a long time on the palate. Enjoy with a good steak.

Bottle. Pours a gold color with a big white head. Citrus and spice aroma. Big time orange and lemon flavor. ever so slight hint of hops that is almost rendered invisible by the citrus. good summer brew. A

Some wrote they íalmost always add lemoní to their beer but didnít need to with this one. well i can understand why, itís got a massive ílemon cool-aidí flavor on attack. and i guess if thatís your thing then this is your beer. As for me no thanks. it was free and I still didnít finish it. :(
