3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My first Henry Weinard’s beer. This is a little different than the IPA’s than what i consider my faves, but i like the hoppiness. It makes me feel like im on a Pegasus.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Honey, barley malt, and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange malt and lightly bitter orange peel flavor. Medium body. I seem to remember Henry Weinhard beers were a whole lot better in the mid 90s - most likely because they beat most of the crap available back then.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a clear orangish gold body with a minimal fizzy white head that vanished pretty quickly. The nose is too light on the hops to truly be considered an IPA, but I guess that’s what they call it. Light floral hops is all that I’m getting from this with a bland caramel malt base. The flavor is lacking in bitterness, the hops that are there are mostly floral tasting and don’t do much to snazz up the flavor profile. Bland and boring toasted and caramel maltiness below. Finishes rather limp and meek with some slight graininess. Light bodied with fizzy carbonation and a watery texture. This one was pretty boring.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Second beer of the Seattle "Always-See-But-Never-Drink" Blind Tasting. Clear, slightly sickly yellow. Medium body, sparkly, corn, house yeast. Some mild, old school hopping. Really not terrible, but a bit over produced ’macro’ tasting. But nice to have some old school memories of Weinhards! Some of my first beer memories are from this brand, back when my dad had six packs of Blue Boar around.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light transparent orange. Juicy citrus, just a bit of a hop bite. Something like a really, really weak version of the DFH Olde School, with a bit more corn. Finishes dry -- not bad at all.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is a pretty sweet and piney hop. Taste is a little sweet for an IPA, but very drinkable. Overall not much of an IPA, but not bad.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Single bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Golden hued with a lasting fizzy head and good lacework. The aroma has notes of biscuity and caramel malts with grapefruity and piney Cascade hops, touch of pepper and DMS. The taste is lightly hoppy but you can get the Cascade character with moderate malt backbone and some spicy notes. Light sulfury notes do detract some. The mouth feel is meh, just sort of there. It is what it is, a generic paint by number IPA. Quaffable enough for easy enjoyment.
