COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. It’s a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

Brouwerij (920) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 26, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2012 Poured into standard pint glass. Pours a clear, golden color. Two finger white head after a hard pour, dissipates to a rocky white cap after a few minutes. Decent lacing. Floral and mild citrus smell, you can detect the cascade hops. Relatively mild hop profile. A bit of maltiness. Mildly bitter finish that lingers for a bit. Medium body and good carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA, not particularly strong or hoppy. A drinkable IPA that probably won’t satisfy hop heads.

Pours clear amber with a thin white-ish head that leaves light lacing. Aroma is grassy with some caramel smoothness. Taste is unusually sweet for a supposed IPA and nowhere near as hoppy. Not bad for what it is, which is not an IPA.

12oz bottle picked up at Discount Liquors
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a small white head and spotty lacing
Aroma: Earthy hops, caramel, bready and citrus
Taste: Caramel, bready, herbal with bitter citrus finish
OK, but wouldn’t bother searching this one out.

Well since it says Milwaukee Wisconsin on the lable, I imagine millerhad taken this over. But this is not great but drinkable.

Clear, bright amber appearance with a small white head and good lacing. Earthy, herbal hop aroma. Caramel malt sweetness obscures the subtle hop characteristics, especially in the aftertaste. Maybe more in line with an APA. Although it will not overwhelm you, it is a decent selection if you are on a budget.

Pint on tap at Player’s, Prospect Heights, IL.
Ar: very light on hops. Very mild. Not at all what I’d define as an IPA
Ap: golden brown in color. Small head that sticks around.
T: Almost a little sweet. Completely out of style.
P: Nice carbonation. Makes this mediocre beer sessionable.
O: meh. Not an Ipa. I wanted something hoppy.

A very average ipa. Had this on tap, nice initial flavor but finish was very weak. Thin palate and watery feel.. I’d pittas on this one.

Was excited to see a new brew at my local grocery story. Unfortunately, this one is wholly underwhelming. Pours a crystal clear golden with a small but resilient white head. Soft small bubbled carbonation. Aroma shown some west coast hops, but they are muted and not bright. Medium bodied, there is is a nice light caramel malt in there, but there is far too little of it. Hop bitterness is fairly low for an IPA. Ends with a sloppy minty fade.

Wilmington Island, Ga - Kroger Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Light copper pour, thin white head. Aroma is pretty much neutral, faint metallic industrial aromas. Flavor is standard budget IPA, some nuttiness, a bit of hard candy sweetness. some breadiness, a faint trace of citrus bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick enough, Not writing home about this one.

Bottle. Taste is metallic, has a bit of a hoppy bite but overall it’s watery and pretty awful. Has a hoppy finish, but ever so slightly. Mediocre beer. How the hell does no one know what the abv for this is? Like, do these guys get the primary point of drinking? Ridiculous.
