COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isnít as big a problem, weíve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. Itís a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

Bottle. Poured a weaker amber color with a very minimal head. Head was gone rather quick. Aroma was mild pines, spruce, and hops. Flavor was some grapefruit, grass and citrus. Very thin and watery body. Very poor for an ipa.

Pours amber with a finger of white head. Aroma is a light mixteure of hops and yeast. Taste is mostly just bitter. There is a little bit of sweetness but mostly all I get are off-flavors. This beer has a glassy and rubbery feel to it.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium white head, with some lacing, over a clear, light amber (SRM 8) body......nose is light pine, toffee/caramel hints.....taste is light pine, hints of grapefruit, light toffee/caramel......mouth feel light, carbonation makes a fizzy mouthful. This falls into the Pale, Ale IPA styles, but "easing up on the hoppiness just a hair" pretty much takes it out of the IPA category, because the aromatic hop left with the bitterness. They could have used more Noble hops to cut the bitterness, but leave the aromas. This is a pretty uninteresting beer. BJCP 6/3/10/4/6.

12oz bottle - pours light caramel with plenty of off-white head and decent lacing. Nose is caramel, spruce and citrus. Flavor adds grass. Moderately bitter with some sweetness. Light to medium body. Easy to drink. Fairly boring for the style, but quite drinkable.

Alright, I purchased this at the Kenard Avenue Krogers in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this is not a bad beer, but itís really tame for an IPA. Okay, it pours a light golden hued brew with the requsite piney citrus aroma, but that quality was really turned down in this beerís flavor, although itís still there. Still, it was cheap. Meh.

This beer is just a little lifeless. The aroma is muted and the taste is flat. There is a taste of citrus and a slightly oily lacing. The color is light. The hops just donít have any life.

Aroma of grapefruit and grass. Nice golden orange color that is approximately what I expect every IPA to look like. Straightforward bitter with some butter and gravel mixed in. Biting and mildly cloying. Itís sessionable without losing the edge completely. Better than I expected. Must go back and compare to Full Sailís own IPA.

Aroma is grassy hops and what canít be described as anything other than water. The flavor is mild citrus/grapefruit, fruit and a mildly bitter finish.

This was the cheapest 6-pack of bottled IPA I found at my favorite workingmanís liquor store yesterday ($5.99) so I had to try it. Inoffensive and worth the price. Pours a clear orange with a tiny white head and no lacing. Notihing much to smell. Aroma has faint buttery/caramel malts and a bit of floral hops. Tastes sweet at first with a slightly bitter finish. Medium body and average carbonation. I wouldnít call this an IPA, but it succeeds as a cheap English Pale Ale.

12oz bottle- single from K Rogerís House .. . pours a medium dark honey gold .. light foam, light lacing .. . slight hops, but as with the other HWís- non offensive .. but this is more of a light english pale .. . . beating people in the crowd, not a bad idea..
