COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isnít as big a problem, weíve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. Itís a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

This is not a bad beer per se. The thing is that is advertised with so much pompous wording and its just not as good or good at all considering that. Looks like an ambrr lager with almost no head, not very hoppy for an IPA, decent bitterness and some caramel. No aroma and no palate worth of noting. Basically, a bad massively produced IPA for the mini market that you can always choose over the pletora of mediocre american lagers.

18 sept 2013, bottle. Yellow, clear, some steady bubbles. Nose is light granola malt and mild lemon rind citrus. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Mild lemon citrus over granola malt. Mediocre n ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle - Pours slightly hazy orange with a small, lingering head. It has a mild aroma suggesting citrus hops. The flavor is definitely on the low end of bitterness for the style. Sweet caramel malt is there. Light bodied. Mild bitterness. Okay to drink but it has plenty of room for improvement.

Clear copper color with a medium foamy white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus. Light to medium body with flavors of citrusy hops and roasted malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Unmemorable overall.

"Itís a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory" That description isnít really accurate i would say. A pretty average beer, has a bit of a caramel flavor with some bitter hops blended in towards itís finish. A bit of a caramel aftertaste.

The worst IPA Iíve ever had. Leave it to Miller/Coors to destroy what was probably once a decent craft brewer. Obviously, in their attempt to keep costs down, they add the least amount of hops possible to even be able to call this an IPA with a straight face.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated Dec 31-12. I am drinking this several months beyond that. It pours medium golden-amber with a modest off-white head that slowly diminishes. The aroma is subtle with caramel and pale malts and low hop notes. The body is medium. The taste has a slightly more hop punch than the nose suggests but the caramel malts are also noted. I like my IPAís milder and this could fir the bill for everyday drinking.
