COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. It’s a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

Bottle. Very standard feeling beer. Clear, gold, light head. Hop taste, not strong but rather mild. Easy drinking IPA for those who like that style.

I picked this just because I like to try as many IPA s as I can. Very weak all around. Not a bad beer , just not a craft beer. I bet this would be just fine with some hot wings though.

The aroma is citrus, caramel, weak and bland. The appearance is amber, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, not particularly flavorful. Medium in body. Weak pine on the finsh. Not especially good.

Straightforward IPA moderate citrus and resin hop nose and flavors, caramel bread malts, semi-dry finish leaning to bitter, but mostly balanced. Indistinct, clean, straight to the point.

12oz bottle pours with a clear deep copper body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up sugary malt sweetened tangerine and orange peel notes as well as some citrus gummy bears. The taste has an odd sweet nutty sort of lager-y note to it mixing with soft sugar sweetened citrus hops. It gets to tepid levels of citrus hop bitterness to midway but those "hop" notes quickly fade as malts surge forward into the finish. Not sure I’d try this again unless it was free as the malts and bits of hops aren’t coming together too well.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks Jetson! Pours a hazy burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Earthy, herbal, woody, grassy hoppy, biscuity aroma. A bit tangy, lightly fruity, chewy cracker, pale malty, herbal, grassy flavor. Bleh.

Draft to pint. Looks decent; malty though. A hazy brownish orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells and tastes of mild hops and caramel malt. Average on the palate. A subpar, underhopped IPA.

Draft at safeco field. Fitting that so many ballpark memories of my dad come back and the beer in my hand is a hank’s--even if it isn’t an hwpr. I love you, pop, and i miss you. Let’s go, Ms. Pours a hazy medium gold with a dense white head. Buttery caramel nose. Slick medium body with soft carb. Ultra buttery spastic fantastic bowl of popcorn mid palate. Is this ballyard lines or from the keg this way? Disinclined to do much investigation. Washed down that ballyard dog pretty good though. God, on days like this i love baseball so much it hurts.

Clear orange pour. Good white lacing. Nose is red apples, baked apple. Taste is metallic, mealy apple. Very chalky, powdery mouthfeel.
