COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. It’s a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

12 oz bottle. Poured golden in color with a touch of amber. Small head quickly diminished to a lingering white band of bubbles around the glass. Aroma of piney, and floral hops. Tastes of mild hop bitterness, an underlying mild caramel sweetness. Easy drinker, but for me it could have a bit more hops.

A mild hop aroma, really not much to it, slight carmel finish, not a good ipa.........

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2008 A new beer from Henry Weinhard. I’ve not been a fan of their other brews but this is a good one. Somewhere between an APA and an IPA this is a good session IPA. Pours goden-copper from the bottle with a decent head. Pentiful lacings. Good piney hop aroma. Nice palate, finishes bitter and dry. Not for big-hop IPA lovers but a good value brew. Well balanced for the type with the piney-citrus hops winning in this instance. I paid $5.49 US for the sixer and the short case was on sale for $9.99 US. IBU is 45.

12oz bottle pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of some pine lemon and grapefruit. Body is medium light and carbonated. Finish is weak but bitter citrusy

Pours a nice gold with medium white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is obvious of citrus hops, honey, and not a whole lot else. Very thin, overly sweet, and just bittering. Only thing it really has is the price.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2012 12oz bottle: pours golden brown with decent off white head, aroma has decent amount of hops, slightly stale. Taste is not a real hoppy IPA, slightly stale, nothing great.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 12 oz Bottle. The beer pours to a alight amber/orange color with a small white head. The aroma has caramel, resin, a little earthy. Thge taste is light in body with a malt forward front end flavor & virtually no hop bitterness on the finish. I wouldn’t really call this an IPA for my taste, more of a lager to me. Overall not one i would buy again.

IPA light? Probably for someone that does not like real IPA’s bitter hoppyness. Besides that - a decent beer.

Pours amber with a finger of white head. Aroma is a light mixteure of hops and yeast. Taste is mostly just bitter. There is a little bit of sweetness but mostly all I get are off-flavors. This beer has a glassy and rubbery feel to it.
