COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. It’s a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

Pint on draft at Flipdaddy’s. Clear yellow orange color. Good thin off-white head. Good lace. Flavor is pretty mild for an IPA. More like a moderately hoppy pale ale, with a weak malt back bone. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry texture. Decent bitterness. OK, but weak for an IPA

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2013 Bottle. Light orange pour with a white head. Pale caramel malt and stale hops on the nose. Lighter palate that is somewhat crisp. Pretty much a letdown.

Pours amber with a decent beige head and a fruit and toffee flavor. A bit roasty too.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Craig! Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A light sweet nose of floral and citrus hops, big biscuit. The flavor is a big earthy malt, some perfume, light citrus, low bitterness. Tea-like. OK.

Draft at safeco field. Fitting that so many ballpark memories of my dad come back and the beer in my hand is a hank’s--even if it isn’t an hwpr. I love you, pop, and i miss you. Let’s go, Ms. Pours a hazy medium gold with a dense white head. Buttery caramel nose. Slick medium body with soft carb. Ultra buttery spastic fantastic bowl of popcorn mid palate. Is this ballyard lines or from the keg this way? Disinclined to do much investigation. Washed down that ballyard dog pretty good though. God, on days like this i love baseball so much it hurts.

10/16/12. 12oz bottle from... Wal-Mart! A tick at Wal-Mart for $7 per six-pack? Dr. Owl is on the case! Amber pour with a small khaki head that fades. Light aroma with grains, caramel, and light, dingy, earthy hops. Slightly brighter flavor with more dingy, soapy hops, but a touch of citrus as well, on top of light grains and caramel. Eh.

Single bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Golden hued with a lasting fizzy head and good lacework. The aroma has notes of biscuity and caramel malts with grapefruity and piney Cascade hops, touch of pepper and DMS. The taste is lightly hoppy but you can get the Cascade character with moderate malt backbone and some spicy notes. Light sulfury notes do detract some. The mouth feel is meh, just sort of there. It is what it is, a generic paint by number IPA. Quaffable enough for easy enjoyment.

British malty backbone. Clear amber orange in color, feels more like a pale than an iPa. The hops are nice, just too mellow and not enough of them in there to come out on top o the malt."
