2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft to pint. Looks decent; malty though. A hazy brownish orange with foamy off-white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells and tastes of mild hops and caramel malt. Average on the palate. A subpar, underhopped IPA.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Single bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Golden hued with a lasting fizzy head and good lacework. The aroma has notes of biscuity and caramel malts with grapefruity and piney Cascade hops, touch of pepper and DMS. The taste is lightly hoppy but you can get the Cascade character with moderate malt backbone and some spicy notes. Light sulfury notes do detract some. The mouth feel is meh, just sort of there. It is what it is, a generic paint by number IPA. Quaffable enough for easy enjoyment.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Brilliant dark gold cold with ivory head . Faint pine, floral, vegetal hop aromas. Mildly hoppy, lightly bitter pine, floral flavors on a grainy pale malt base brew--better than no ipa

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Very light golden color on this, delivers a decent little fuzzy head. Light and pleasantly quaffable, comes off with a bit more of a malty character than you’d expect for the label, bit starchy, too perhaps. Decent center of the scale pale ale. (#5298, 10/19/2013)

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Golden yellow with a white head. There really isn’t much aroma other than a hint of grain and some grass. Not impressive. The flavor is unfortunately more of the same. I get some grass and grain as well as some soap and a bit of light pine and citrus. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a good beer at all.

Fr0m the c0mmercial descripti0n: "Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through." ?!? It’s the 21st Century, f0lk. IPAs are ab0ut the h0ps, n0t the caramel! This pale, clear amber brew is even light 0n the caramel in the n0se, with an even fainter am0unt 0f zest and mayhaps s0me grapefruit. The weak flav0r relects what can be garnered fr0m the ar0ma, with a m0derate am0unt 0f bitterness. Meh. And I’ve never used that "w0rd" bef0re.
