COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available cold filtered in 500ml bottles. Occasionally available in the cask.
"Iron Horse is a strong pale ale hand crafted at the beer station from a complex grist of roasted malts and English hops. This gives a full flavour with a traditional Sussex hoppy nose to the beer."

A hoppy ale with plenty of lingering dry hop bitterness but not a lot of hop fruit. Dissapointing!

Bottle. Sweet malty nose, loads of sticky fruity notes with some darker caramel malt with grit. Hop stickiness. Hazy, dull copper color but a buoyant, jiggly rocky white head. Taste is very, very dry with some light grit and a surprisingly clear, ringing bitterness. Dark, earthy overtones, headed a touch toward metallic, though. Light-medium body, has some umph, no accusation of wateriness here. Very natural, bitter-roasty appeal.

Bottle. Poured amber with an off-white head. Subdue malt aroma. The flavor was also subdued with malts and a hop backing. Medium body and light hoppiness throughout.

500 ml bottle purchased at The Wine and Cheese Place in St Louis, Missouri. Pour is hazed orange golden with an off white one inch head that falls slowly with decent lacing. Aroma is big toasty malt, very much baking bread along with a nice underlying aroma of citrus honey hops. Taste is the earthy toasty breadiness of the malt, along with a mineral, almost spicy floral aspect. Interesting flavor. Palate is thin to medium, higher level of fine carbonation and a crisp finish. Quite easy to drink.

500ml bottle. Amber-orange color. Steady soapy off-white head. Clean English Ale aroma, light hops. Mellow and creamy, soft carbonation. Very balanced, with a biscuity malt body and a steady, but never overly intense, hop flavor. I get some deep caramel malt notes, not unlike a nut brown, in the finish. A nice session beer, well done.
