Hand pulled cask at the Brittania Bar Cafe, Rochester. Amber/gold with a thin white head. Fruity malt with a touch of cheese. Subtle grassy hops. Nothing to wriite home about.

Bottle. Pours deep, hazy gold with a thin off-white head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is banana, honey, and cookie malt. Flavor is bitter, earthy hops which transitions to a sweet, malty finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.

StueyD (666) - Heacham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2007
A mid golden orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A biscuity malt nose, with a hoppy aroma. The taste is dry and malty, with a bitter, oily hop flavour that stays right through to the finish. (Bottle - courtesy of Edd @ The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk, who collected this, amongst others, during a trip to Horsham).

smcolw (426) - Wayland, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 12, 2009
Orange-amber color with a definitive chill haze. Moderate Belgian lace. Modest head, even though the beer bubbled over when opened. Malty with oak undertones. Mild hop bitterness. Far more bitter than the smell would indicate. Dry finish with a lasting hop bite. Round mouthfeel with liberal carbonation. Surprisingly little malt flavor.

A bitter that didn’t hold back on the bitterness, hops are present both in the aroma and the taste and all in all this was refreshing.

I am not really fond of bitter beers but this one stands out. Nice head, nice bite and rather bitter aftertaste.

Very little aroma. Malt aroma is very faint and hop aroma even fainter. Golden color with moderate white head. Hop flavor is surprisingly strong considering there was very little aroma. More bitter than most English beers. Body is typical for the style. Overall decent enough, but not outstanding.

Cask, gravity dispense at Wallington BF. Gold with white head. Malty flavours and a long bitter finish. Just a touch green but pleasant enough

Very acceptable drinking bitter. Clean, crisp taste. Good session beer. Slightly high at 4.2% but definitely worth trying a pint or two!
