This is the winner of the Hereford & Hops award in the 3 Rivers Alliance of Serious Home Brewers (TRASH). Brewed by Armand Hoyle, this light brown ale is a low alcohol session brew style from England. Moderate amounts of malt aroma and flavor with hints of chocolate, caramel and malt sweetness. There is no hop flavor or aroma and a medium level of hop bitterness to keep the finish from being overly malty. It leaves a dry aftertaste that will keep you coming back for more! OG 9.7P, FG 2.7P, alcohol by volume 3.7%, alcohol by weight 2.9%, IBU 23.7

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 A very clean aroma with very little olfactory impact what so ever. Clear and orangish red in hue. No head or visible carbonation. Barely any carbonation on the palate either. Taste is initially some grassy hints and this morphs into a more bitter bite as the session continues. Has much more bitter bite than I expected for such a low alky beer. I do not taste or smell any chocolate hints as suggested in the description. Finish is quite malt and hop bitter, almost like a stronger APA!
