A nice choc hazelnut aroma come from this black brew with a small white head. Choc is strong and upfont and the hazelnut creeps in with this medium bodied brew with small bubbles of carb.

From a bottle. Pours like coke, sweet aroma of roasted coffee, warming alcohol on the back of the palate, pretty good.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 Dark caramels and fine chocolates grace my nostrils and truthfully, I am reminded of chocolate pecan pie. Best stuff on the planet unless you have a penchant for good beer. The beer pours a deep brown, chestnut foam capping the surface, only momentarily. The head disappears into cloudy swirls in various and abstract styles, modest and delicate. The aroma is amazing, the taste, balanced and lovely. This is sweet, but only moderately, and the ABV is not high enough to even threaten a boozy experience. I could drink this stuff all day long and for so many different reasons. The finish is amazing, the nutty goodness lasting a touch longer than the chocolate and the alcohol completely insignificant. The carbonation could be slightly higher for my taste, but it’s very close as it stands. I will probably be buying a few more of these just to see how they last...if this gets any better, I could be in real trouble.

650ml bottle. Pours out near black. Some head at first but then quickly none. Lots of toasted hazelnut in the aroma. Some notes of molasses and light smoke too. Taste is closer to chocolate with a slight smoky dryness in the midst. Decent effort but the hazelnut was a bit too toasted for my liking.
