Bomber from Hayduke that we had via facebook chat. A deep dark brown with a one finger tan head. The aroma is sweetish. Milk chocolate, hazelnut that you would add to your coffee, and coffee. I taste all of the above along with vanilla, fruit, and wood. Lactic. Just a little bitterness late. I like the complexity here. And the smooth rich feel. This one was in my wheelhouse and I liked it.

On draught, this pours opaque black into the glass with a large choco-tan head that leaves huge soap lacing. The nose is of hazelnuts and chocolates. Lightly roasted grains, a huge wallop of hazelnut and chocolates finish with a hazelnut roasted essence. The mouth isn't overtly sweet, yet full of flavor and silky velvet to the palate. Gorgeous use of the hazelnut in this superb Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a teku showing sparse lightly browned foam and pitch black, light bodied, with high carbonation. The nose shows a roasted nuttiness akin to chestnuts and somewhat heavy notes of unbuttered popcorn. Also some hints of grass and dark chocolate. The palate is surprisingly smooth with a gentle & moderate carbonation. Very big & thick body almost bordering on a stout but the carbonation keeps it barely light enough. Flavors of a light chocolate milk but quite subtle and underplayed. The intensity is watered down by the big body. Mid palate shows a slight steel/copper-like sharp tartness. Very perceivable roasted coffee bean bitterness at the finish.

Aroma is mostly bittersweet chocolate, with maybe a touch of toasty malt. More malt apparent on the palate, some hazelnut and sweet malt to balance the mostly bitter chocolate blanket. Finishes fairly dry in spite of robust dessert flavor profile, so quite drinkable. Tasty.

Black pour mild foam. Aroma is light nuts, very mild soy sauce. Taste is lots of big hazelnut flavour and some sweetness - tastes real good. Classic roastiness for a porter as well. Medium carbonation on palate. Good solid porter here - I like it!

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Bottled 10 Nov., 14. A: Pours near black with a short light brown head. Poor head retention soon left only a ring but there was some spotty lacing. S: Rich chocolate initially followed by a stronger nutty hazelnut note with a hint of peanuts. Black bread in the background. Exceptionally pleasant mix of well balanced aromatics. Taste: the dark and sweet chocolate is more evident here compared to the roasted nut flavors. The hazelnut does linger on in the aftertaste. Lightly and appropriately sweet. Feel: Medium bodied; very smooth; medium carbonation. O: A solid porter with restrained and well balanced contributions from chocolate and hazelnut. The blend overall slightly favors the hazelnuts, but even together these are scream FLAVORED beer.
