3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Evil Cousin pours a deep orange. Small white head is poured. No lacing.
Aroma on this one is decent. Slight tropical fruit aroma with more of a dank citrus smell. Not the best overall smell Iíve ever picked up from a DIPA but not bad.
Taste is decently hopped. More citrus than anything but not what I would call a Massively Hoppy Imperial IPA like the label says. I was expecting more of a West Coast IPA here but itís more balanced than anything. The aroma is by far more dank than the taste is. Piney hops show up more here and end with a nice bitter aftertaste. Alcohol shows from start to finish.
Medium bodied, dryness is left on the palette.

Poured up on tap at the Pleasanton Hopyard with clear copper body and gold edges as well as a nice looking white foam head that leaves behind some lacing. The aroma is spicy and sugary sweet malts and then quickly picks up thick citrus notes like tangelo and grapefruit and some clementine. The taste delivers a nice resiny hoppiness with grapefruit, tangelos and a touch of lime. To midway a bit of mango and spicy hops join in with resiny bitter pine hoppiness. Darn easy drinking and enjoyable IIPA.

On tap at Rubicon for beer week! Aroma is very fresh hops. Flavor is very bitter, not as smooth as I might expect from an imperial, but still delicious! Been looking forward to trying Jamils beers for a while.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle, frsh batch bottled 2-20-12, green writing on the label. much better than the first batch! yummy! lots of big sappy pine and juniper show up, but a good load of tropical fruits and sweeter hop notes going on as well. definitely a huge malt body on this one, good level of bitterness, and a nice soapy and tropical fruity lingering aftertaste. not bad, especially for a beer from pittsburg. im excited to see what else comes out of this place!

Bottle. Yellow color with a white head. A strong wet pine aroma with a nice floral flavor and a bitter mouthful. There is nothing mellow about this beer. It hits you upfront with its aggressive hop profile, and it finishes with lingering bitterness and hop flavors.

Pours a super clear golden yellow. Aroma is pine and grass. Taste is crazy pepper and a nice bitterness. Decent but weird.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark orange but quickly goes to no head or lacing. The smells is at first sweet tropical fruit and candied orange then pine a dank hops. The taste is light biscuity malt and moderately sweet but gets brutally grapefruit bitter very quickly. Itís mouthwatering and soapy soft. very fresh from this bomber at City Beer. Over all it is pretty mono dimensional hop bomb. Good at that but not a standout.

Is this a Lagunitus Hop Stupid clone or a Pliny the Elder clone? Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, I think all of the above for the hops, (probably some Summit hops for bittering) malt simple and mild. Not very complex, but will give you your hop fix, if thatís what your looking for. Go Jamil!
