Evil Cousin is Heretic’s take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who can’t get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

Pours a super clear golden yellow. Aroma is pine and grass. Taste is crazy pepper and a nice bitterness. Decent but weird. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark orange but quickly goes to no head or lacing. The smells is at first sweet tropical fruit and candied orange then pine a dank hops. The taste is light biscuity malt and moderately sweet but gets brutally grapefruit bitter very quickly. It’s mouthwatering and soapy soft. very fresh from this bomber at City Beer. Over all it is pretty mono dimensional hop bomb. Good at that but not a standout.

Is this a Lagunitus Hop Stupid clone or a Pliny the Elder clone? Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, I think all of the above for the hops, (probably some Summit hops for bittering) malt simple and mild. Not very complex, but will give you your hop fix, if that’s what your looking for. Go Jamil!

This smells like hoppy piss. A really strong nose which ends in amonia. very odd. Appearance is golden yellow clear white head. taste is really bitter and brutal with only the slightest tiniest touch of malt. LIke a pliny but a bit more acidic. Palate is nice. Overall I’m not going to be searching this out any time soon.

This starts off with a big strong dank aroma, with some earthy notes hidden within. Pours a clear golden amber, with a full fluffy white head. Big chewy hop notes, with a strong bittering note in the finish. The finish really sticks around with this beer. This is a solid hop bomb. Don’t go into this beer expecting balance, expect this beer to just be all about the hops.

Huge danky nose, big pine and weed up front. Lots of hops, light pale malt backbone that imparts just a hint of sweetness. Pours pale golden, nice head and lace. THe flavor starts and finishes with a shit ton of danky hops, weed, and a touch of bread and pale malts sweetness in the middle. Big agressive hop character, nice drinkability. Dry, lingering weed flavors. Good stuff.

Bomber. Pours a totally clear copper color with a large white foamy head- looks awesome. A sweet resinous and pale and pils malt nose, some lemon. The flavor is sweet sticky reisnous hops, lingering but not overpowering bitterness, some heat and bitter finish. Certainly a bit of a odd chemical warmth that complicates it a bit, nothing offensive. Very aggressive.

Draft at stone. Fresh hops and wort aroma. Very nice sweet floral brew. Slightly strong. Great!

On tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro. Hazy amber with orange highlights supporting a two finger off white head with a nice film of thin lacing. Aggressive aroma of earthy, rustic hops - not a classic west coast citrus explosion. A bit of citrus in the flavor but the rustic hop profile dominates along with toffee and a hint of mango. Sticky, full mouthfeel. Dry, bitter finish with a touch of white pepper.
