COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Evil Cousin is Hereticís take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who canít get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

In short: A under-malted and over-hopped abrasive piney and grassy golden IPA. Hard to drink
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed relatively fresh a few weeks after receiving it from oakbluff, thanks a lot Scott
The look: Clear golden body topped by medium off-white head quickly dissipating to a small persistent layer of foam
In long: Nose is rather piney but also with plenty of dry grass with a spicy twist. Taste has elusive malts, light body, residual sugars without backbone. Balance is obviously not the goal here. Hop profile was like a hefty dose of chinook-like high alpha acid sandy piney hops with also a whole lot of Saaz-like dry grassy hope with a spicy edge. Iím almost certain no Saaz went into this American IPA but thatís what it tasted like. There was also a soapy edge I could have done without. Very looooonnnnnggggg after-taste. This beer didnít work for me, abrasive, not refreshing, hard to drink despite the light body, couldnít take big sips without making faces. I was very much disappointed by this one, and it is the all those disappointments caused by all the boring beers I buy that drove me into drinking, and that makes perfect sense to me.

Bomber poured into a Stein. Nice translucent dark golden appearance with moderately thin lacing that pretty much dissolves the head about halfway down. Taste is pineapple grapefruit that sort of takes a back seat to the forward hop bitterness that takes a front seat along for this ride. Has a nice kick as well. I like it.

5/7/15 from bomber dated 1/15/15 lot 204. Amber color with one finger head. Good piney hops aroma. Pretty well balanced slightly heavy on hops side with a little bitter aftertaste. Quite good and similar to Pliny the Elder. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber pours hazy yellow with fluffy white persistent head. Fruity, dank nose. Huge tropical flavors on the palate: mango, pineapple, papaya. Overall, nice balance between malt and hops, lush flavors, no piney west coast hop aroma. Very nice!

Golden honey pour with a small eggshell head. Oily orange rind, bright grapefruit pith, and juicy tangelo flesh. Assertive. Affordable. Aggressive. A+!

Pours a translucent orange-amber into the glass, with a nice foamy head that reduces to soapy lacing. The nose is of solid citrus and pine aromas. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, citric zest and peel finish with a piney, resinous forest of hops! Gorgeous flavors here, accompanied by a very drinkable mouthfeel, semi-zesty to the palate with a medium body. Great substance and complexity, but never feels boozy or too heavy. Superbly put-together, this is one fine DIPA!

This poured a semi hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma was citrusy Hood, caramel and booze. Flavor was citrusy and grapefruity, sweet and a bit malty, bitter. Old school

Solid DIPAs. Is there anything that calls out this solid DIPA from any of the others? No. But, I enjoy this one.
