Small beige head. Hazy brown body. Roasty dried fruity aroma with resiny notes. Dry-sweet wooden spicy taste with caramelly dandelion notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mealy mouthfeel. Dry-bitter dandelion and roasty caramel aftertaste with herbal notes. A bit sharp and bitter. (0.65l bottle, shared by gr0ve.)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A decent red, a little on the hoppy end. Pours a beautiful red with a tan head. Smells of hops, nothing else. Taste starts fruity, but quickly turns hoppy. Not a huge bitter aftertaste though. Had at tap at the Bay Area Craft Beer Festival

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bomber from bhensonb) Pours a semi-clear dark red color with a large light tan to cream colored head that leaves a bunch of lacing and retains well. Aroma is very fresh and potent with grapefruit, light pine, and mint showing up in abundance. This smells really similar to Indeed’s Day Tripper. Light bit of toastiness emerges from the hoppy depths to provide a counterbalance and remind you that there’s a bit of malt character here. The flavor is substantially more malty and balanced with a pleasant caramel undertone matched with clean and fresh minty hops. A little bit of iced tea here. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is appropriate. Overall a pretty tasty strong ale. Thanks Bill!

22oz bomber thanks to Gription79. Pours a dark amber color with a frothy off-white head and excellent lacing. Nice hoppy aroma with lots of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruit and pine. Some sweet caramel and toffee notes as well. Flavor has a nice grapefruit bite with a bit of tangerine, lemon zest, and some caramel notes.

pours a dark reddish brown with a huge thick tan head that lingers. aroma is balanced, and big. malt sweetness, hop bitterness, and a nice floral aroma to kinda bring it ask together. flavor is superb, and almost "light", at least for a craft ale. very balanced and very good all around beer.

Nice flowery aroma. Not too dark not much of a head. Not as malty as you’d think, more hoppy very easy to drink little bitter on the palate, but I like bitter very good beer

Malty, hoppy, oh yeah! Heard a lot about this beer and it did not disappoint. Deliciously rich in crystal malt flavour with plenty of hops along for the ride.

I’ve enjoyed a number of beers that entice the taster with scents of ripe orchard fruit, citrus and spruce and then the next thing you know you’re face down having beer kicked brutally by the beer, it is daylight, you’ve soiled yourself and your wallet is missing. If I black out writing this review, then you’ll know this is one of those beers.
It appears clear with a beautiful amber colour and some white head that left good lace down the side of the glass. The aroma is so typically West Coast: spruce, apricots, blood orange, herbal grassiness.
Argh! Argh! Hops! My wallet! Hang on, wait... the flavour is certainly heavily hopped, but it isn’t a violent assault. The bitterness is there, but while fairly strong, isn’t overcoming. It contributes to a lingering finish. It is still a big, big beer, but not frightening. In any other country it would be a super-beer, but in its home, a well-balanced, easy drinking beer (but not a session beer). This serves to underline context in beer.
