4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Has some nice roasty notes as well a nice fresh hop scent. Has a nice light roast with not much of a bitter hop taste. Super smooth and complex, one of the best scents in a beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
650ml bottle. Pours a murky deep chestnut, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves good lacing. Resinous, sappy hops dominate the aroma, with some fainter herbal and pine needle characteristics and some sweetish toffee malt. There are some quite faint pine needle notes, but the predominant initial flavour is resinous, herbal hops. These stay present, melding with dark, toffee malt to create a nicely balanced mid-palate. More smooth toffee leads into a finish of potent, sappy hops. There is a lingering bitter herbal aftertaste. Despite what is claimed on the label, this is most definitely not a red ale. It is, however, a powerfully hoppy, yet full-bodied, malty ale. Deftly balanced and very drinkable indeed.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Was looking forward to this one. Very dark red, ruby highlights bring it short of brown. Nose is rich hoppy with some malty tones - hinting the devil is in the flavour. Flavour is more powerful than the aroma. Soft, light, but rich maltiness. Huge piney hop character, classic US IPA hop profile on the malt backbone. Lovely mouthfeel with moderately assertive bitterness. Light sweetness from the crystal malts follow through nicely on the finish, but the beer is still quaffable and nowhere near cloying (more than expected after reading the label).
Great beer - will be brewing Jamil’s recipe.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Filled my glass with a very dark brown beer. The aroma is juicy, citrus fruits, slight bready malts. The flavor citrus, bready, grassy, solid malt character. This is a fantastic beer.

Lovely red body with mainly lasting head. Oranges on the aroma and then some dry pine notes. Easy drinking smooth taste, hop flavour is not over the top, quite balanced and you don’t notice the alcohol.
