This blood-red ale may not be what you might expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

An excellent example of the style. Full bodied and balanced. Only downside is that it is a little too strong for those who would like to have a couple more!

UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 Light amber color. Very malty, dried strawberries, oranges, cherries. Moderately heavy mouth. Lots if fruit. Decent balance. Doesn’t take me anywhere special, but respectable brew.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Toffee and caramel aroma. Really light on the palate with a carbonated finish. Palate lets the beer down, but taste is there.

Tap at Tadg’s. Great nose—tangy grapefruit, amber malts. Red-brown with lace. Nice hoppy flavor, caramel, earth, grass, citrus. A good hoppy amber a la Hophead Red.

Tap at local taphouse. Pours a murky brown with a tanned head. Nose pine and grapefruit. Taste is toffee grapefruit bitterness. Really easy going stuff. Love that grapefruit chewiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Part of the 1000  at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 6.8% A reddish brown color with a floral pine needle aroma that has a certain sweetness to it. A very quaffable bitter piney beer but I don’t get much from the Malts beyond some biscuity qualities. Still very very nice.

Bottle. Sweet blackberry and hop aroma, taste is sweet with a dry bitter at the back end, long finish, looks pretty with the red colors. Great beer up front a little off putting after taste.

22oz Bottle Dark brown but clear. Slight off-white fizzy head. Roasted aroma that was a bit sweet. Some bitter spiciness as well as the IBUs. Deep malty flavors as well. fairly bitter.

Dark brown pour with red highlights. Sweet malty aroma with a touch of soy sauce that fades into more of a cherry nose. Very rich malt body is balanced by a clear but subtle hop note. Finishes with roast and resin that somehow melds really well. This has to be one of the most complex and well-balanced beers i’ve had.

Aroma of tamarind, resin, grapefruit and a little cookie. Deep amber with a very thin tan head. The taste is of toasted malts, nutmeg, wheat with a bitter finish. I'm not getting this quite right...it's really good.
