COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This blood-red ale may not be what you might expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

Bottle, 10C. Dark red with a large beige head. Aroma of oranges and chocolate, toast, white pepper, soap, herbs, aging lawn clippings. Medium bodied, slightly creamy. Taste has toffee and nuts, oranges, peaches, pepper, galangal. Long, spiced and herbal finish with moderate bitterness. Interesting.

Poured from the bomber into a shaker. Clear ruby brown with a tan head. Aroma is a big dose of grassy and floral hops - smells like a wet hopped beer. Flavor starts with some caramel malt and leads right into all of the hop character. Again, a nice dose of fresh hops! Medium bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall this is quite delicious and very fresh tasting.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear dark straw colored body. The aroma is rich grapefruit and lemon with some brown sugar in the background. The taste starts with big lemon bitterness, but the (slightly caramel) malt quickly tames it. Great balance. The texture is softer. Great profile.

"The balance of this beer has definitely leaned towards the malt. Don’t know the age, but the main presence of the hops is bitternes rather than floral aromatics or flavor. Too bad too, cause the malt is rich and tasty, but what’s left of the other half of the beer took a little away from the overall enjoyment."

Really delicious!! good colour, great aroma, good malty balance with hoppiness that is just enough (well its never enough now is it). But, just enough that those hoppy burps remind you of why you love beer. Good beer. Look, its really good. how does it hide 6.8% so well?? well I can assure you that this is a new favorite of mine.

On tap at Tap East Stratford. clear dark red brown beer. Thin beige head. Some sweetness in the mouth some lime grapefruit hop. Some oxidisation but not much. Bit too much carbonation yet still a little watery in the mouth. Ok. Promises much but not quite delivers on this pouring.

Tap at stormbird, camberwell. Pours a dark red amber with an off white head. Nice, grassy hop aroma with a light candy sweetness... Medium body, medium carbonation. Rye toast, toffee, lemon, woody resin... Nice balance a touch sweet, but tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cola color with a caramel malt aroma. Taste is of sweet melted caramel mixed with a rich malt flavor. A mild bitterness that is only slightly bitter. The bitterness lingers on the tongue far after the swallow. A tasty beer for the style, the more I drank it the better it tasted.

Hazy deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and crispy. Light smooth malts. with thin cream a nice mellow dark toffee streak. Develops more light cream. Hops are a nice mix of pine, very mild skunk and light ripe orange. Touch of marmalade. Mild bitterness before a smooth semi dry finish. Comes together well. Very drinkable.
