COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gramarye is the practice of learning magic. For thousands of years, people have used a grimoire (book of magic) to cast spells and summon spirits. Of course, magic fell out of favor over the centuries, the same as brewing with rye. Interest in magic seems to be on the upswing these days, and so is the interest in brewing with rye. A coincidence? This is our take on session pale ale made with a dose of rye malt to give it that luscious feel and snappy finish. We think it is magical.

Brilliant amber color with ivory head. Nice spicy rye bread, fresh grain aromas. Smooth medium body. Grainy, chewy spicy rye flavors with some caramel, and floral hoppage---good pale.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2013 Bottle from mane liquour. Pours a amber colour with small head. Aroma is earthy hops with heaps of rye, god I love the smell of rye beers! Taste is much the same, clean and crisp grassy hops with a lovely lingering rye bitterness. Only 4.4% but extremely sessionable. Very solid beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is amazing. first off it’s 4.4 which..come on..i don’t usually shoot that low on an abv but i knew Jamil brewed this so here we go..Aroma: like i opened a fresh bag of rye bread. We might need a reuben version of this beer but i digress..the taste: straight up gangsta..super rye and oh what is that? a nice lil sour finish to make your day. Man i love this one. Can’t wait for the "Gramarye" aged on sourkraut. Salute.

Pours rich copper with a fading head. Nose shows lots of malt with bready characters and some spicy, toasty rye. Lovely. Also some soft earthy hops. Very similar flavours, with powerful toasty and spicy rye alongside a spicy, earthy hop hit. Great length. Nice moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with minimal head. Looks exactly like the Templeton Rye whiskey that just happens to be sitting on the table as well, which is nice. Aroma of caramel, toffee, a smidge of spice. Taste is malty, bread and toast in the taste with a biscuit finish. Pretty dry. Light body, thin texture, soft carb. Overall: nice one for sessioning.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours amber with a small light yellow head. Solid lacing around the rim. Nose shows earthy hops and the rye is pronounced. Taste is quite resinous and piney, grassy hops. Rye comes through nicely. Very balanced with some nice hop bitterness. Solid without being spectacular

Very nice beer, well balanced, drinks like a red or rye ipa, great body for such low abv. Well done.

My beer buddy Strykzone sharred this one via Facebooki chat. I poured a rich clear copper color with a big white and moderate lacing .The nose is citrus and rye. Medium in body with a clean mouthfeel. The flavor is citrus, the rye, and both Strykzone and I agreed was something else off that seemed to clash with the other flavors. As the beer warmed this became less pronounced . I would say it was pine but maybe with the rye it tastes different. Not sure. Anyway the finish was suitable bitter, and by the time I was finished I was liking the beer. Good thing I had a full 22 oz to keep savoring the beer as it was hard to analyze. But overall it was a pretty good session beer.

A little too sweet for my liking. The rye gives it an odd taste. It wasn't bad, just not something I would drink regularly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
