Tap at Kamikaze. Black with a pretty, fine head. Nose of light vinegar, cream, vanilla, cherries. Rather faint. Sweet chocolate flavor, creamy, cherry, canilla, yogurt. Not all that sour, but well balanced and tasty.

On tap at the local taphouse. Pours a black with a tanned head. Nice lacing. Nose is cherry, dark fruits and roast malt. Heaps of funk on the nose almost like a war head. Taste is dark fruits - plums, cherry and roasted chocolate. Really smooth palate - coated with milk chocolate and war heads. This is fucking awesome.

Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 6.2% A dark cola brown with a beige head & a sour fruity aroma with tart cherry notes. The taste is much mellowed than expected, very woodsy-vanilla, oak-a definite barrel quality to it. A cherry tartness first, then oak+barrel flavors then a mellow sourness. Nice stuff.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma: tart cherries, pleasant acidity, mellow dark malts and some cocoa, dark ripe fruit, nice.
Appearance: pours black, pretty much opaque, fluffy tan head with good retention, little lacing.
Flavor: dark fruit and cocoa, sour cherry with just the right amount of acidity, nice light roast malt profile with no astringency. Just a touch of bitterness to balance, a bit of toasty malt sweetness in the finish, some Brett funkiness.
Palate: medium body and carbonation, very smooth.
Overall: really enjoyed this, great balance and complexity.
