COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shallow Grave Porter is dark as night, perfect for a cool evening out in the woods. This a big, dark ale with a complex and rich chocolate and caramel malt character followed by a touch of warmth and light malt sweetness, leaving you ready for more after each shovelful. You will love this so much you won’t have time to dig a six-footer, so make it a Shallow Grave. We’re sure you’ll dig it.

This porter is dark as midnight. This bold, rich, very dark ale has a rich dark toasted chocolate, coffee, and molasses character. It has the right balance of bitter chocolate and light sweet roasted malt taste. This has a dark ample head. I love this beer. Great job Heretic Brewing! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from slowbeer. Nice porter, quite alcoholic. Aromas of amonia, chocolate, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with long length. Palate is velvety, fizzy, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a disappearing head.

Dark as night, hints of mocha, love it. Shame it’s quite expensive, I’d buy heaps of it

650ml bottle. Pours as black as a deep grave and carries a bubbling foam head. There are hints of vanilla, aniseed and licorice in the aroma. Full flavoured and thick and rich in the mouth with a nice long aftertaste. Probably the best porter I have had.

Excellent porter. The only thing wrong with this is that the head did not hold up very well but that may because the glass. I would like to see a competition between this brewer and a trappist ale.

On tap at Abbot’s Cellar. Roasted toasted coffee, licorice, chocolate, and lactose. Really nice sweet and salty porter aromas. Dark black-brown opaque with lacing tan head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation and some warmness. Starts sweet and rich with chocolate, coffee, lactose, and molasses. Chocolate malted milk, sweet finish with nutty sweet bitter after. Nice porter.

Aromas a malta tostada, café, y ligeramente chocolate.

A - Pours a dark black with a hint of brown and a finger of frothy chocolate head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lace. S - Aroma is full of deep roasted chocolate malts with some coffee some sweet caramel and a touch of lactose sweetness. T - Starts off with some rich roasted dark chocolate malts with some coffee and a bit of earthy hop. Through the middle some sweet caramel and a bit of hop bitterness and chocolate bitterness. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate with a touch of sweetness and some coffee. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and roasty finish. D - Very drinkable. Really nicely balanced Porter. The chocolate and coffee flavors are near perfect and the touch of hop flavor is really nice.
