Redish brown with tan head. Fuity, spicy, caramel, toasty, earthy and light roast, really complex in the nose. The taste is complex too, really balanced. Great!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Clean mahogany color with beige compact head. The aroma has strong dusty mellow caramel component, a sign of American yeast strain. Sweet, full bodied, with some alcohol warmth, plenty of mellow caramel flavor, some sweet nuts, ordinary bitterness.
This yeast doesnít provide any character; and even less, no Belgian character.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Decent pour with a small light brown cap, silty lacing.
Sweeeet brown sugar, orange, chocolate hides, sticky, faint alcohol, orange, light tangy drool maker, raisins, dates, light spice. Ducks Jets game 2 is unreal. Pretty good beer that is easy to consume without thinking yet is missing complexity. Thankfully this isnít some west coast hopped up abomination.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Extremely enjoyable beer. Pours a mahogany brown with a finger or so of creamy light beige head. The aroma is rich and luxurious with light earthy notes, toffee, nuts, prunes, raisins and cinnamon coming through. Sweet toffee, nuts and caramel malts up front with prominent prunes and raisin notes, light cherry as well. Rich and heavy on the finish with a light spicy ester note. Warm and boozy on the finish including a typical Belgian yeast aftertaste. Good brew.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with full head. Aromas of brown sugar, toasted malts and a little copper. Flavors of golden raisins, toasty malts, burnt sugar, a little orange and again some copper notes. Hot. On style though a little light overall.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A nice take on a specialty Belgian from California, USA. Wax sealed bottles are always something special. Has a dark brown pour, thin fizzy tan head with no lacing. Itís good, bur you can definitely tell this isnít an official trappist brew from some of the smaller touches like the head/lacing and the balance of flavours. Has some nice dark fruits, spices, etc but seems a bit overly sweet for a dark Belgian with a high ABV.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ml bottle pours amber brown in color with a 2 finger light tan head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel with some dark fruits and hints of chocolate. Taste is a caramel, fruity and light chocolate malty sweetness with a mild herbal hop bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation that pleases the palate. Overall, a quality crafted brew that suits the style really well and tastes great.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle. Reddish Brown pour with lots of lacing. Medium brown sugar and dark fruit nose. Dark fruit, caramel and brown sugar flavors of plums. A little sweet. It lacks Belgian yeast flavors. Some earthyness. A little burn in the finish. Not bad, would rather be drinking a real Belgian Dark strong.
