Bottle shared by Dogbrick on Memorial Day. Clear reddish copper pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, metal, caramel and Belgian esters. Malty and caramelly flavor with esters and chocolate before a dry finish.

Sample at the Memorial Day Deck Beers tasting on 05/27/2013: Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium foamy beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and fruit. Full, syrupy body with flavors of caramel malt, ripe bananas and yeast. The finish is sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours dark brown with a fading off-white head. Nose shows brown sugar, golden syrup, candi sugar, dried fruit and sultanas. More golden syrup as a flavours along with candied ginger, bready malt, dried orange peel and hot booze. Too much carbonation.

Sweet, citrus, slight alcohol smell, classic orange/brown appearance, sweet taste, spicy kick to it, good citrius, slight caramel aftertaste. You don’t taste the 10% ABV, there is a little warming after the swallow but not a boozy beer.

Pours dark brown with a white head. Caramel, brown sugar and warming alcohol. Sweet, malty and boozy. I would have like this more if the alcohol was a little more subdued. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a tan head. Malt and yeast aroma with light spice and light fruitiness. Rich malt and toffee/caramel flavor with yeast and light spice. Medium bodied. Caramel/toffee lingers with yeast, spice, and light dried fruit.

Bottle. Dark orangish brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet sugar molasses aroma. Tastes of molasses, toffee, a lot of residual sugars and dark fruit with raisin flavors to the sweet finish. Sticky full bodied palate. There’s some nice complexity that gets somewhat lost in the over done sweetness of this brew.
