Our Torment is a rich beer with lots of caramel, malt, dark fruit, and dark Belgian candi sugar notes. The luscious fruity character is full of caramel apples, candied pears, and chocolate covered oranges.

From the waxed 650 ml. bottle dated 11/20/15. Deep ruby red pour with lingering, soft tan head. The aroma brings out a cherry-like fruitiness with sweet roasted caramel malts and a low to no hop profile. The body is medium to full. The taste emphasizes the fruity characters above all and the alcohol is well masked. This one left my head spinning.

650ML bottle Clear dark mahogany color. Light tan head that falls to a decent collar. A few strips of lacing and a bit of AVB lacing. Nose is bubble gum, cotton candy, pear, poached pear and dementia sugar. Good nose but a tad bit sweet to me. Taste is banana, bubble gum, port, pear, poached pear, clove, and sugar. Still a bit sweet in the first par t but does get more integrated. A bit thin in the mouth and a touch slickly sweet. A little bit of wood in the back of the mouth but still pretty full bodied. Not a bad Belgian style at all. Might see how this is after more age on it.

Tasted this in the Doghouse, Glasgow on the 30th January 2016. Keg, font dispense. Clear mahogany in colour with a thin off white head. Strong malt clear in the long intense aroma with notes of overripe pear and warm candyfloss. Thin mouthfeel and no lacing. Strong complex mixed malts deliver a rich liquid malt extract base with sweet candied fruit notes, dates, barley twist, Demerara sugar. There is a surprising earthy element to the hop resins which came as a pleasant after thought and gave a good bitter balance to the malt. The finish is malty with typical Belgian sweet flavours of candyfloss, golden syrup, dates and boozy sherry notes present in the mouth. Reminded me a lot of Harviestoun Nouveau - for those of you that can remember that little classic! Highly recommended.

Small frothy white head. Virtually none lacing. Mostly diminishing. Translucent average-density dark reddish-brown body. Aroma: moderate malt, caramel, alcohol, wood, blackberry, plum, red wine. Initial flavor: moderate sweet (malty and chocolate). Final flavor: moderate sweet light bitter; average duration. Palate: medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic light alcoholic finish. Alcoólica. Paladar amadeirado. Frutas vermelhas no paladar. Lembra Gouden Carolus Classic. Da descrição no rótulo, o que mais lembra é laranja coberta de chocolate. 220s USD20.5

Appearance: clear brown with one finger of short-lived light beige head, patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: toffee, plum, raisin, candi sugar, cocoa, boozy dark fruit. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter, light tart (7/10) Palate: medium-full body, lively carbonation, drying mildly boozy finish. (4/5) Decent Belgish BSDA. Dark fruit, boozy. Not very tormenting at all, truth be told. Could stand to be heavier in the body, and bolder, but on the other hand it’s impressively easy drinking for a double-digit ABV. (14/20)

Pours a half finger of light tan head on a dark brown body. The aroma is caramel, burnt caramel, ripe plum and alcohol. The taste is quite sweet, a little boozy, lots of fruits and chocolate. The texture is medium with nice fizz. It’s rich.
