Bottle, poured a light orange color with aromas of light oak, apples, and some dough. Flavors follow suit with a little more citrus coming through. Solid beer overall, glad I got to try this one.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DocJitsu (334) - California, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Pours somewhere between a translucent and opaque light, orange-golden color with a short, white, foamy head. Big chardonnay on the nose with some banana and pineapple emerging less obtrusively. Mouthfeel is nice with good balance between the smoothness and carbonation. Noticeable warmth alcohol warmth at the finish. There’s quite a bit of disorganization in the flavor. Empty tartness. Some unripe pineapple, a little green grape, a little pear, cinnamon at times, with some sweetness late. Nothing complimentary. It’s like drinking stripes with polka dots. There’s a pleasing oaky vanilla flavor as the beer finishes. In my opinion, that’s its best feature.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ineedbeer (212) - San Leandro, California, USA - MAR 11, 2013
Aroma is dominated by moderate fruit esters with pear being the most prevalent and apple next. Light honey note with a hint of white wine and oak, but the barrel characters are faint. Not much malt character at all. Light alcohol note as it warms.
Pours a cloudy pale golden straw with a medium thickness white head that has surprisingly good retention considering it wasn't too fluffy. Light lacing with medium long legs. I got a few yeast chunks but I didn't pour as cleanly as I could have.
Lots of tropical fruit up front with pear and apple being the most prevalent. Some honey notes mid palate with a hint of banana. Some light peppercorn spice present as well. The finish is slightly drying with some oak and white wine notes. Not too strong, but the tannins do add a bit of acidity. Medium low bitterness and no hop flavor. The grain doesn't taste as fresh and crisp as I would like and instead a bit muddled and stale. Medium low alcohol spice in the finish.
Medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. The beer seems a bit under carbonated. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall this beer is alright, but I expect more from Jamil. It almost seems like the beer got exposed to too much oxygen either while in the barrel or during packaging. The carbonation is also on the low side. The fruit esters are nice and work well with the white wine character.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bmsulliv (84) - - MAR 9, 2013
Musty oak flavor. Golden pour with small amount of foam. Too much oak - slightly bitter overpowers blonde. Way too much alcohol.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 DesertDevil (220) - Arizona, USA - JAN 13, 2013
375 ml Bottle. Pours a clear, very light golden color with no head and slight lacing. Chardonnay and pear dominates the nose with apple tones mixing to form a sweet, fruity aroma. Sweet vinous notes on the taste with apple, some citrus and bits of oak and leather. Nice, but I get very few typical Belgian characteristics.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bytemesis (1482) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 18, 2012
Bottle. Pours cloudy amber-yellow with a small off-white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is a touch of funk, lemon, wood, honey, peach. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, light funk. Quite woody with an almost smoky near finish. Medium body, silky in the mouth. Alcoholic warming dry finish. Quite a nice beer, actually.
