The color is warm golden and the head is nice and creamy. The aroma is slightly malty and sweetish. The flavour is sweetish, fruity and it has a light bitterness. 2435

pivnizub (9978) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2006
Bottle: Deep golden to light amber coloured, thin, lacing foam; deep sweet-grainy/malty, a bit dusty nose, maybe some hops and alcohol in the background; slightly sweetish (honey) flavour, light (!) to medium bodied; short sweet-bitter finish with a "taste of honey" again. A Bock, yes, a bit thinnish unfortunately; lacks bitterness as a counterweight.....................

MoritzF (9197) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2005
(bottle) Clear golden colour with a medium frothy white head. Sweet malty aroma. Initially sweet malty taste turning into a rather dry and medium bitter hoppy finish. Not bad, but also trivial for a Bock. The alcohol is very inconspicuous.

Skinnyviking (8597) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 24, 2007
Bottle. High white and lasting creamy head. Clear golden body. Sweet barley malt aroma. Sweet and fruity barley malt flavor with a fair amount of hops adding some bitterness. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste.

Svesse (7699) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2010
(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 31 July 2010) Pale amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with apricots, orange and slightly toasty malt. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of orange, apricots, toasty malt and a mild, grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, sweetish. Nice and highly drinkable.

Erzengel (7324) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 27, 2013
The beer starts malty-sweet. Very sweet. The mainpart is dominated by the sweetness, a bit sharp, a bit bitter. The aftertaste is long, sweet-malty, slightly bitter but somehow unround.
--> Not one of the better Maiböcke.

jackl (6782) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle @ CBC’s 1st Birthday Party. Thanks to whoever brought this along. Light amber color with a medium white head. The nose is light grains and spring water, honey maltiness. The taste is medium crunchy nut cereal sweetness, honey, and strong orange. Dough. Medium body, full prickly carbonation. OK.

Bottle, courtesy of Pivnizub
Amber colour, low tanned head. Herbal hops on a otherwise grainy aroma. Fat fruity malt base, on the sweet side, light aromatic hops, could use a dry herbal kick. Oily mouthfeel, low on carbonation. Goes well with fatty cheese.

McTapps (6396) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - MAR 31, 2013
Deep dark golden colour with low head and smooth body. Nose of burnt malt. Taste of ripe grains, ripe hops, rich malt, strong alcohol, cloves and warm spruce. Not that easy to drink and it is quite bitter in the finish. Won’t be my favourite Bock but it is okay-like.
