Cartoon_khaki (1120), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2008 Slightly cloudy amber with off white head. The aroma is a bit musty with a light malt and a little smoke.
Flavour is malty sweet with faint maple sugar background and light hints of smoke.
Palate is okay no too watery.
Boutip (1815), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear copper color lager with a medium foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of light maple taste with some good caramel malt notes. Taste is a mix between some light fruity ester, some light maple syrup and some caramel malt notes. Body is average for the style with some average carbonation. Not too bad for the style but turn bad when gets too hot, this one must be drank cold. probstk (695), Nepean, Ontario, Canada May 25, 2008 650 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. MA23/08.
App.: Deep amber, clear, small light tan head.
Aroma: Fruity and malty – berries, a bit of dark dried fruit, caramel/toffee; brown sugar, maybe just a hint of smoke and wood.
Palate: Medium body, fairly soft carbonation.
Flav.: Lots of berries, some tree fruits, a bit of caramel and brown sugar, a touch of sweetness, fruity finish, no maple or smoke, per se.
Not offensive, but very unremarkable. It could have been much more. garthicus (559), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 24, 2008 Amber colour, small grey head, not much visible carbonation. Damp cardboard aroma, skunky too. Slight hop and bitter flavour with a fast bitter finish. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 23, 2008 Clear amber (like maple syrup, funny enough!). Sweet fruity aroma, slightly orangey even. The flavour is caramel malt with a definite maple-sugar candy sweetness in the finish. Slightly tart as well, so not cloying at all. I actually really liked this!
