[411-20070708] 650mL. The warm mellow tones of her handsome captor’s voice were imbued with a rich quality that seemed to vibrate through her womanly being. Realizing he had come upon her suddenly, and almost violently, a breathlessly foamy gasp was snatched from her long white throat as he silently demanded her attention, penetrating to her very soul with his hazy, light orange eyes. His sweet and intoxicating cologne wafted through the crackling air between them, a strong passionfruit aroma with notes of lychee and peach nectar, tantalizing her olfactory senses. As evocative as the sensations were, she didn’t quite know what to make of them. "I am... G-gweneth..." she breathed and suffered a slow, scorching blush, almost groaning at the syrupy clumsiness of her tongue. His crisply chiseled features softened with an amused grin and she could only watch as he unhurriedly lowered his head towards her face. Teasing her with unknown fruits of passion, he traced her supple lips with his tongue in a gentle caress. She tentatively opened her mouth and he dipped his tongue inside, drinking from her silken portal as if she were nectar from the gods. Wanton, racy thoughts flitted through her mind, exposing themselves through little moans of captive pleasure. He pressed his capable body against her maidenly figure and caught her gently as her knees went weak in sweet expectation. "This is too much," she gasped, unable and unwilling to move. "My darling," he breathed into her little ear so only she could hear him whispering his inviting words, "How enchanted I am to have waited for you..."

Originally rated February 2006. Bought this limited brew at the LCBO on Rideau street in Ottawa. Created for Valentine’s week with passion fruit concentrate. Pours a slightly hazy light golden colour with a great big white foamy head. Retention is also great, and the lace is all over in small patches. Great passion fruit smell with hints of their regular traditional ale. Mildly syrupy mouthfeel. Good sweet start in the taste department, with notes of honey and the passion fruit. Then, leads into a slight grainy and bitter finish. Some grapefruit is also in the finish. Smooth aftertaste. As you all must know by know, I love fruit beers. This one is a first for passion fruit in a brew, and I think it is well-brewed. Not too sweet to gross out the stomach, but not too dull like some fruit lagers/ales.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. The bottle spent the last few years at Dancing Camel’s cold storage room at about 0 degrees celsius. Clear golden. Aroma of floral hops, some fruits (a hint of passion fruit) and a bit of oxidized notes. Medium-bodied. Surprisingly still quite decent and even pretty hoppy, can’t find too much passion fruit though.

650ml bottle. Poured clear amber with a white film of a head. Sweet candied fruity aroma. Watery texture. Bready malt backbone with a tangy passion fruit flavour. Medium-light bitter citrus peel finish.

Sampled at 2007 Brewnosers’ Christmas Gathering. Pink colour with a mostly diminishing pink tinted head. Passion fruit dominant in both aroma and flavour with not much else getting through. Light bodied, refreshing. Pleasant, but not very “beery” in the least.

Bottle. Hazy dark yellow with a small white head. Candy sweet peachy aroma. Flavour is pleasantly fruity with enjoyable sweet peach flavours, but the over the top candy like sweetness is too much to drink more than a small amount in a sitting. Medium syrupy palate. (3+) A decent pairing with a fruity dessert, but a sickly sweet libation if enjoyed on its own.

Bomber from the LCBO: A pleasant surprise! Poured a dark gold clear ale in the stein with a small white cap. Poor retention. Nose is light but nice; biscuit malts, grassy hops, hint of fruity perfume. Light bodied, biscuity with a light hop bight and a fruity presence that rides just below the malt-hop profile but provides a nice ambiance with the hopping. finish is clean lightly bitter and very light fruity sweetness right at the end. A very approachable mild ale with a subtle fruit extract tang to it.....decent.

DerWeg (1271) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 20, 2010
Slight hazy orange-gold look and short fizzy head. Fine light carbonation. Decent aroma of sweet and tangy fruit, some lemony hop. Taste nice hop and passion fruit combo, with a light acidity of the fruit working well. The hops are a little earthy as well. Body is medium-light, it’s a crisp refreshing bee yet not too dry. Their beers can be a little similar yet the fruit is nicely used here.
