Heritage Premium Lager

A golden lager with a thin white head. A very biscuitty malt aroma with fruity notes, and honey. In mouth, a good biscuitty malt, grainy mash tun, with nice English hops. A bit thin but overall pleasant. Bottle from LCBO Kanata.

Never got around to rating this local beer. but had it many times. Golden lager with a nice thick white head. Sweet hoppy floral aroma, and fresh malts. Very clean malt in taste with atypical floral hoppiness (though typical for Heritage), a light citrus qualities. Reminds of Cerna Hora at L’Amère a Boire.

Straw yellow colour with light hoppy nose. Tastes clean with a fruity perhaps lemon aftertaste that is quite nice.

Bottle from the single pile at the LCBO. Poured a clear yellow-gold color decent white cap reduced quickly. Grainy aroma some sweetness no discernable hop note in the nose. Flavour profile is pretty much what you smell. Modest pale malt some hints of norther brewer hops and a clean finish. Another pale lager with no character. when will wee out grow this under achievement for craft brewers with potential.

Stubbie at Pub Italia in Ottawa. Pours a standard golden lager colour with a foamy head. Weak hop aroma. Very clean tasting and some hops are certainly present, but it doesn’t distinguish itself that well among the sea of lagers in Ontario. Can’t complain too much overall.

Bottle, September 2008. Pours with a huge head, which on previous bottles stayed and even enlarged a bit after I’d finished pouring, but this bottle’s head is quickly dying. Smells very grassy, with some pine and lemon or lime. The flavour is fairly sweet with notes of lemon, fruitiness, grass. I remember this being better than what I have in this particular pour.

Another decent Canadian lager. Quite hoppy with a touch of bitterness. Finish was a tad sour. Tasted more like a pale ale than a lager to me though. Not that that is a problem.

The towering white head and gold body made for an attractive look. The aroma and taste were both coloured by some grassy hops and yeasty, white bread qualities. I thought I was crazy sensing some green apple until I saw the same thing mentioned in a couple of other ratings. Overall, I thought this beer lacked cohesiveness and was a little all over the map.

341 ml stubby, Mulmur. Surprising hoppy flavor, long dry finish. Very nice.
