Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada May 10, 2007 Bottle: Cloudy golden body. Thick huge! off white head, this thing is a mound of froth, crazy! Aroma is yeasty and has a light hop hint. Almosts a bit of apple fruitiness in it. light bitter. Creamy palate. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 28, 2007 [203-20070209] 341mL. Light grape aroma with yeast and slightly toasted nuts. Thick yellow body. Tastes like slightly warmed yeasty bread. Light-medium body. Comes together nicely. MarkoR (224), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 26, 2006 Not a bad beer. Pours a pale yellow golden colour, with a generous foamy head. Taste better than it looks. Taste is well balanced for a lager. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2006 draught. At 2006 Toronto Festival of Beer. Pale clear yellow, flat-looking, huge frothy white head. PL aroma - generic sweetish grain, dead hops; PL taste of same, a little sour on warming, not all that vegetal; thin, watery mouthfeel, pretty flat, quick diminish, very slight vague "off" aftertaste. Won’t scare Joe Sixpack, but I won’t bother again, at most it’s boring. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 21, 2006 Bottle from Boutip. Aroma is malty, sweet, and a little citrus hop.Looks a decent gold with white head that fades. Starts out kinda interesting. Somewhat analogous to budweiser, though with substantially less of a corn / aluminum flavor and more hops. As I drink it it starts to build up a nice little tangy aftertaste. Does have a nice modest palate, not overcrabonated, not too watery. I agree that it’s good for a lager though it’s not my favorite in that category, I see this as enough better than BMC beer to be worth making the distinction. Certainly nothing to get upset about drinking, as most entries in this category are! johnnymutolo (6), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada does not count Sep 22, 2005 I like it. Seems to have a beer taste that is a little less appologetic - not the ’smooth drinking’ character of bud light or blue. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium May 6, 2005 (Cold) hazy yellow with orangey shine; fluffy snow-white head. Very grassy, bit mouldy, not unlike German "feinherb". Dull initial pilsner taste, grainy, little bit toasted, summergrain. Aftertaste gets some hopcharacter. Slick, grist-like MF; the toasted taste nonobstinating, rather refreshing. Reasonable pilsner. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 14, 2005 Stubby Bottle. Yellow pour, small white head. There is definitely at attempt at some hop aroma here, but it is rather weak. An odd grain/grassy sort of aroma as well. Mouthfeel is a tad thin and watery, but holds up well enough. Taste is again sort of grain like, but with the hint of hops and yeast. Comes off sort of honey like as well. Short finish, but what does linger is not that nice. Still, I now prefer this to the dark. There is craft here and I could see this finding an audience in the summer. A few notches below a Northumberland Ale, Robert Simpson, and Dogsbody for me though (I know they are different styles, but they are local lagers/ales I would reach for in the summer).
