I hesitate to use the term "quaffable," but this light-bodied dunkel is very refreshing, with a hint of fruity flavours (strawberry, citrus) to round out the hops, which are very muted. Overall, a bit too specific and simplistic, but enjoyable.

Dans un "stubby". Goût discutable, malt trop roti, caramel bizzard. Bouf! C’est mieu que des macros!

341ml stubby bottle acquired in trade with beerhugger (thanks!). Poured a dark and see through orange/copper color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of bread, roast, caramel, and nuts. Tastes of bread, caramel, and some oranges. Thin body.

Dark copper body topped with an average off-white bubbly head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with light herbal ans bready notes. Taste lacks complexity and the bitter aftertaste is dominated by woodiness. Not a good dark lager.

draught. C’est What. copper body with a persistent small white head. aroma is soft caramel and bread - but fairly quiet in general. sweet caramel malt body - light bitterness and a short, sweet and yeasty finish. mediocre.

Pretty palatable for a dark, but a little weak compared to most others. But decent. They try to make a fine beer and this beer is, well, fine, I suppose.

Bottle (341ml). At Pub Italia, Ottawa. Poured clear amber with a small off-white diminishing head - not bad, but also not DARK. Citrusy hop/malt aroma - like fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit, medium slightly roasty malt, a touch of oak and yeast - nice. Taste follows the nose, starts juicy sweet finishes somewhat resiny-bitter, and there’s definitely a caramel character in there too. Palate is lightly creamy but a little too flat - medium bodied. This is a lovely brew, but I have a hard time thinking "dunkel" when I drink it - nice and balanced and easy to drink.

341ml brown stubby. Orangy-brown coloured with a fast collapsing soapy white head. Leaves some sticky clingly lace. Malty sweet aroma. Dark sweet malts in the mouth with a dash of roast malts. Bottle from gilvanblight.
