Good head retention and lacing . A fair taste of maltiness on the tongue. Not bad, not to heavy, for the style I can have some more of these.

Bottle. I have better memories of this beer from the Fort York festival a few years ago when it was introduced. This bottled version, courtesy of a friend in Ottawa, was very disappointing. Thin dark brown colour with very little head. Thin watery mouthfeel, very little carbonation. Sort of a caramel type taste, but very cloying. Not something I’ll reach for again, certainly not in bottle form.

Bottle. Deep rudy in colour. Aroma was slightly sweet, some caramel malt and a little bready. Flavour was of slightly roasted malt, very small amounts of hops noticable. Medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Pretty average.

Bottle pours dark copper, medium frothy off-white head, lively carbonation, with attractive lacing.   Stewed vegetable like aroma, almost like beef stew.   Fairly malty up front, very minor vegetable as well.   Body and mouthfeel seem somewhat average, or medium.   Malty finish, slight carob perhaps, but again with the minor beef stew tinge.   Tiz okay.   Thanks goes out to radiomgb for the trade!

341 ml stubby bottle, courtesy of Lubiere. Clear mahogany, hint of head...caramel and light herbs/grass in nose...sweet body, touch syrupy, little if any hops, pleasant and clean but quite ordinary and forgettable.

Pretty good copper colour with a creamy tan head which diminished slowly and left bubbly lacing. Slightly syrupy, maybe slightly bready malt aromas. Some hops alongside the caramel malts in the flavour, although it is far too thin and watery for my liking. Finishes nicely though with a slight bitterness. Wouldn’t turn it down.

Nice red brown colour and pleasantly oaky body. Light but slighlty sweet malty flavor. A very acceptable drink.
