mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Aug 31, 2004 Via trade with Lubiere and Capflu. Pours clear orange in color with a light tan head. Malty aroma. Bready too. Malty flavor. Nice body for a light beer. Easy drinking. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Aug 27, 2004 Via trade with Lubiere and Capflu. Pours a clear orange with a nice light tan head. Malty, almost bready aroma. Malty flavor. Decent body for a light beer. A little one dimentional, but making a beer like this clean is worthy of note. Very easy drinking, and a decent session brew. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Jul 25, 2004 Pours clear almost maple syrup coloured. Tiny white head. Moderate hop floral, sweet earthy aroma. Refreshing. Nice bitter and nutty roast. It’s set upon a watery back drop. Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 8, 2004 Tap: Poured a clear black beer with an almost non-visible head. Carbonation is quite low which doesn’t augur too well. Aroma is quite weak with a small touch of malt and hops coming out of my glass. Taste is better then expected when starting with subtle sweet taste and ending with a good bitter final. Overall, this is a good refreshing drink lacking some carbonation and probably the chocolate/nutty taste of regular dunkel. Sickboy282 (1098), San Diego, California, USA Jul 8, 2004 Pours a dark golden brown with a light white rothy head. Aromas of... I can’t place it.... doughy, but moldy.....It’s a little odd... unlike any beer I’ve had so far.... Thins may be my first dunkle and that may explain it.... Flavors of toasted malts, a slight dough and slighly smokey.... Overall, nothing to be excited about.. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jun 14, 2004 A copper coloured beer, with a sour-dough bread nose. There’s some nice hops flavor in there, but some unfortunate root vegetable flavors began to creep in as well. Not as dark or as full bodied as its name implies either. I prefer Heritage’s regular lager. MartinT (5026), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 22, 2004 Updated: Feb 28, 2005Hoppy greenness converging with roasted malt metal...When fresh, grassy bitterness emerges as the winner, as the thin body cannot withstand its herbal weight, but with a little time the roastiness can topple the hops...A nice quaffer... tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 10, 2004 Dark, toasty, roasty and lightly hoppy. Clear, brown with thin white head that recedes to ring. Surprisingly hoppy flavour with thin caramel base. Lightly roasty in the finish. Refreshingly light. Enjoyed with MartinT. Bottle.
