Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Apr 28, 2002 Chestnut colour; hop, toast, cocoa aroma; clean palate; good flavour development (similar to aroma), a little bit watery towads the end, but easy-drinking dunkel. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 31, 2007 Bottle at RBESG 2007. Amber colour. Pretty normal with thin malts. Not that great to be honest, but it couldn’t have been too bad as I gave it a goodish score. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Aug 28, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle at RBESG. Dark brown. Roasty and hoppy with some very slight chocolate. Unrefined and thin. Not great. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 25, 2005 341ml stubby bottle acquired in trade with beerhugger (thanks!). Poured a dark and see through orange/copper color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of bread, roast, caramel, and nuts. Tastes of bread, caramel, and some oranges. Thin body. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Aug 28, 2007 Bottled thansk to Dan, rbesg07. Alround a pritty standard dark lager, good mix of pale and black malt, but not really my scene. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 22, 2004 Updated: Feb 28, 2005Hoppy greenness converging with roasted malt metal...When fresh, grassy bitterness emerges as the winner, as the thin body cannot withstand its herbal weight, but with a little time the roastiness can topple the hops...A nice quaffer...
