Brown/orangy in color. Nice hoppy nose (surprising for a lager), good balance between malt and hops (Saaz?). Heritage have atypically hoppy, resinous beers, which i wont complain as I am an inconditional of IPAs. However, if you did a blind tasting, I would never call that a Dunkel!!!For a local brewery, well done. 6-4-6-4-13
Same golden brown amber colour with a thick off white head. Aroma is much more fruity, with strong strawberry notes. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt, with oily mouthfeel and the same berryish qualities, a decent brew. Half a pint at the Cottage, June 30th, 2006. 7-4-6-3-13

341 ml stubby bottle, courtesy of Lubiere. Clear mahogany, hint of head...caramel and light herbs/grass in nose...sweet body, touch syrupy, little if any hops, pleasant and clean but quite ordinary and forgettable.

Dark, toasty, roasty and lightly hoppy. Clear, brown with thin white head that recedes to ring. Surprisingly hoppy flavour with thin caramel base. Lightly roasty in the finish. Refreshingly light. Enjoyed with MartinT. Bottle.

Light coffee darkish, lace in glass. Crowning head. Bit of chocolate malt aroma. Bit of taste though a lagerish one. Lower than average carbonation On the sweet side, very little bitterness. Summerhill LCBO Festival.

Bottle (341ml). At Pub Italia, Ottawa. Poured clear amber with a small off-white diminishing head - not bad, but also not DARK. Citrusy hop/malt aroma - like fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit, medium slightly roasty malt, a touch of oak and yeast - nice. Taste follows the nose, starts juicy sweet finishes somewhat resiny-bitter, and there’s definitely a caramel character in there too. Palate is lightly creamy but a little too flat - medium bodied. This is a lovely brew, but I have a hard time thinking "dunkel" when I drink it - nice and balanced and easy to drink.
