Bottle 330ml (from BBF, BB 06/2016)
Clear golden color, medium-sized white head. Sweetish fruity aroma, hints of pineapple and Belgian yeast. Some metallic notes too. Medium-bodied. Fruity with riped pineapple, metal and apple. Alcoholic finish with some lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Typical middle-of-the-road triple from Belgium.

330 ml. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems & Zoon. BBF 07/2015. Pours an industrial apple juice golden, thin bubbles, totally clear, chemical white head. Nose is sweet grains, baby food apples, sweet corn, light cooked cabbage. Taste is sweet cardboard, thin apple, sweet grain, cooked cardboard / cabbage, mineral, cheap mineral water,… Touch thin cardboard cheap mineral water, light grains, cooked apples, thin cheap apple. This is like a high fermentation 7 % ABV beer for people who only drink macro pale lagers, interesting but not a good beer even one can drink this easily like a macro pale lager. Further solidifies my impression of Brouwerij Sint Jozef being a pretty rubbish brewery they are like a stuck-up Martens with allures.

Helder donkergeel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is hoppig bitter, niet zoet en licht kruidig en fris. Standaard tripel niet slecht maar ook niet uitzionderijk goed. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen.

The blonde counterpart of Herkenrode Bruin, authentic abbey tripel with a thick, snow white head and pale blonde colour with greenish hue. Malty aroma with restrained fruitiness, a hint of citrus and flowery hops. Soft fruity taste, mellow pale malt sweetishness, drying towards the end with a flowery hoppy finish that doesn’t turn really bitter. Inoffensive and a bit dull, I liked the brown one better.

Een tripel met een goede, volle smaak zoals een tripel hoort te zijn, stelt niet teleur

Bottle. Pours hazy golden in color with a whitish head. Citrus, some bready malts and sweetish nuttyness in aroma. Bit yeasty, some sweeter notes in taste. Slightly vinous and herbal spicy notes in aftertaste.

Pours gold into a trappist glass. Bright white head medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Mild sweet dough aromas. Dry with bitter earth and metal upfront turning sour in the medium length finish. This is not good.
