2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
This middle-of-the-road lager, on draft at Herkimer, is pleasant but unremarkable. The aroma is fresh and has mild tones of caramel, with a bit of basement aroma (though this may have come from the brewpub’s in-process smells). Pale brown appearance, fairly clear, the Mumme has a minimal head. I’d call it a medium bitter.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Herkimer Pub & Brewery. Hazy amber with a thin white head and some lacing. Aroma of malt and grains with some mild spices in the background. Taste of sweet malt, light caramel and mild pepper. Phillies lost to the Cardinals in the NLDS while I was drinking this one. Boo!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap. Hazy light brown to orange pour with a foamy white head. Aroma is black pepper and grain. Medium to light palate. Taste is grainy, with again some black pepper. Not too bad.
