BDR (1862), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Feb 22, 2008 Winterfest 2008. Not bad for a marzen. Typical copper color with white head and a grainy nose. A little bit of toasted character. Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 10, 2008 On draught during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin white ring. Aroma of multi-grain malt, light citrus zest with a touch of white grape juice. Taste is medium bodied, lots of carbonation with flavors of light multi-grain malt, some light citrus and some crisp light fruit. Finish is slightly metallic a little grainy with a clean cut aftertaste flavor. Dickinsonbeer (2512), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 3, 2007 Pours a light amber with a thinnign head. Aroma is sweet clean caramel malts, nutty with mild light munich and viena malts. Toasted malt flavor with a hoppy noble spiciness- and a bit pretzel-like. Crisp clean finish- doughy and malty. Nice marzen. thomasacross (128), Edina, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2007 Draft at Herkimer. A beautiful deep ruby color. Wheaty and malty aroma is faint. Slightly sweet but no significant malt flavors... Really, not much flavor at all. A light, session-beer type Marzen. haddon90 (950), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Mar 2, 2007 On draft at the brewpub. Deep orange with a tiny head. Wheaty aroma with some interesting malt to it. A little roasted in the flavor. Lighter than most marzen’s. Nothing overly impressive, but not that terrible.
