beastiefan2k (1109), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Aug 21, 2008 Pint @ brewpub. The beer has a hazy straw color. Aroma is an earthy biscuit, which comes of nice. Its a thick maltiness (for a light beer) with the noble hops. Taste is dulled down just a bit and has a light seltzer feel to it. Overall very nice beer to drink with a nice medium body (which is surprising yet works very well). theisti (1045), Leawood, Kansas, USA May 8, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008Pint draft at brew pub. Pour is a cloudy hazed golden orange with not too much white head. Aroma of hoppiness and a nice subtle malt earthiness. Taste has a nice unfiltered chewiness that highlights the floral hoppiness, and the mineral earthiness. The palate is medium but still refreshing. The after taste lingers and really begs you to take another sip. I wish there were more unfiltered Lagers in the world. Subtle and satisfying, nice one. General_Gao (2509), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 16, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Golden in color. Nearly clear. Head was thin and white. The aroma was of light yeasty bread dough and noble hops. Dry with moderate hop bitterness that peaked toward the end at about 4-5 out of 10. The flavor was dominated by green, leafy noble hops, but there was also some delicate bready malt. Pretty tasty. PGA324 (85), Savage, Minnesota, USA Feb 29, 2008 A very good beer..... pours clear with spare head, good lacing.. sweet aromas of butter/butter scotch, medium body kind of fizzy, butterscotch flavors, average duration... @ Herkimer Pub & Brewery... nobody else mentions butter qualities in their review, but i’d swear its in there! keoki182 (298), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Feb 25, 2008 This one gets style points for trying for a rare style, but it just wasn’t enjoyable to drink. The hoppy nose and flavor reminded me of a pilsener, probably the continental hops used. Pretty astringent mouthfeel and an unpleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. Try the alt instead.
