3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PGA324 (86) - Savage, USA - FEB 29, 2008
A very good beer..... pours clear with spare head, good lacing.. sweet aromas of butter/butter scotch, medium body kind of fizzy, butterscotch flavors, average duration... @ Herkimer Pub & Brewery... nobody else mentions butter qualities in their review, but i’d swear its in there!

Pint on tap at the brewpub. Clear gold with a nice white head. Aroma of floral hops, some fruit and malt. Flavor of toasted malt and hops. Nice balance. Nice beer.

Just a hair more flavor and aroma than the kolsch. Very light hops in the flavor and aroma. For the style, there should be more yeast I think, but there is very little. Good palate, which is probably this beer’s best quality, which makes it very drinkable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 kidmartinek (1848) - austin, Texas, USA - AUG 30, 2009
This bright yellow beer pours with a pure white head. Aroma of dirt and barn. Tastes like an old, dirty weiss/witbeir. Slightly sweet, with wheat malt, and sugar, and still fermenting. Texture is initially lively, but then subsiding. The beer finifhes fermentingly sweet and sour, abrubptly

Hoppy aroma. Golden coloured hoppy and smooth on the palate with a crisp and slightly bitter malt finish.

Autumn Brew Review 2008. First of TWO Kellerbiers at the fest. I love this place. Gold color with a large head. The aroma is like a hop vine of the Noble variety. Very dusty grain taste, finished off with ample Noble hop floralness. Lightly bitter finish. I can see why this has won medals in its category. Top notch!

ABR 2008. Aroma is grain and some hoppiness as well. Sweet flavor, solid mouthfeel.

Draft @ Herkimer. Pours a clear, dulled golden-copper color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Mineral bitterness, toasty malts, and light sugar in the aroma; touch of overripe fruits present. Medium mouthfeel: some basic, crisp and toasty maltiness with mineral hop bitterness on the perimeter; touches of overripe fruit and basic sugar at the core; a bit more sweet than I’d like. Lengthy finish: toasty malts, overripe fruit / caramel, and some minerals; a touch dry at the far end, pleasantly so.

Pint @ brewpub. The beer has a hazy straw color. Aroma is an earthy biscuit, which comes of nice. Its a thick maltiness (for a light beer) with the noble hops. Taste is dulled down just a bit and has a light seltzer feel to it. Overall very nice beer to drink with a nice medium body (which is surprising yet works very well).
