2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 kidmartinek (1848) - austin, USA - AUG 30, 2009
Cloudy orange in color, a decent white head. Aroma of salty wheat malt. Tastes like good wheat malt, a little sugar, and some grassy hay. Flavor has a very small initital bite, then a medium, puckering, lingering tartness.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 badgerben (4116) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUL 7, 2009
Hazy gold color with a large head. Solid wheat aroma. Light banana and clove flavors. Mostly bubblegum and wheat. Not out of this world, but pretty good and much better than other "hefeweizens" that show up on brewpub summer menus.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 tennisjoel (1111) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - JUN 20, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Typical hefe appearance. Murky yellow body with a nice head. Thirst quenching. Banana/Clove combination, but with a slight tart note, perhaps lemon. Decent, although not a top tier hefeweizen.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 maniac (3474) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2009

Hazy wheat yellow pour, malts, banana sweetness. Flavor was light, fruity and a little funky (but good.) Decent beer, best one out of three I had tonight.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2008
On draught at the Herkimer brewpub in uptown, Minneapolis, MN. Pours a semi-hazy golden pale brew with an average slow dissipating off-white head that has some spotty lacing. Aroma of multi-golden grain malt, wheat malt, banana esters, a touch of cloves, yeast and a hint of bubble gum. taste is medium bodied, with flavors close to its aroma but less clove and bubble gum. Finish is slightly watery but still has a good balance flavor with very low bitterness.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beastiefan2k (1921) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - SEP 18, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2009 Weizen pour at the brewpub. I thought I accidentally got the Gose. I see people aren’t into a sour Hefe, well thats what it is. Looks beautiful, thick and unfiltered yellow. Strong head never fully fades. Aroma is fully of lemon and citric smells. Lots of zinginess. Taste is a bit more subdued but definitely not a standard and be ready for a lightly sour surprise. 8/4/7/3/15
Had a non-infected version, even better. A pretty dark hefe, no light getting through. A beautiful mix of all the hefe yeast aspects with nothing dominating. Comes off as a great bready hefe. A thicker mouthfeel to go along with this makes it nice as well. Not a light hefe as too many brewpubs pawn off nowadays. 8/4/8/4/16

Draft @ Brewpub: Hazy gold, no head or lacing. Nose of tart grass, banana and clove. Funky and infected tasting. Tart and estery. Meh.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hellomynameis (868) - Mayer, Minnesota, USA - AUG 29, 2007
very hazy dark yellow with a fairly thin white head. Small hint of banana and lemon. The flavor has a tartness to it and some extract like banana. The flavor is decent and has a lot of grain.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2007
On tap at the brewpub, June 2007. Hazy gold colour. Rather lemony aroma - possibly due to the unsolicited slice of lemon. More sharp, tart citrus on the palate. What about banana, fruity esters, spicy yeast? They seemed to be pretty much absent. A clean and quite refreshing beer, but seems to be lacking in some of the elements expected of a hefeweizen, hence I felt the need to mark it down a mark or two overall. It’s pretty average anyway.
