COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Produced for Hermann Krischer GmbH. "Our Ambrosius-Bräu is a real honey beer. Unlike some other beverage, it can truly be called a beer, instead of "drink" or something similar. We developed the Ambrosius-Bräu in cooperation with a Belgium brewery. Honey was often used by brewers of beer in the Middle Ages. To underline the originality of the honey beer and to maintain as much as possible of its character, we offer it only in original bottle fermentation (like the yeast wheat beer)."

Bottle on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. Pours mostly clear yellow with a creamy white head. Sweet cereal and pale bread on the nose, some light lemon. Mild sweetness in the flavor with peach and bubblegum, some mango, more cereal. Light bodied with high carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with pale bread and some tropical fruits. OK.

Bottle @ The Train Tasting, Part I. The pour’s gold with a small head. The nose is bright honeycomb. Spice. Notes of ginger, cumin. Some herb garden. The taste is honeyed nut cheerio cereal. Somewhat bready. More spiced herb on the finish. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a decent effort. Actually pretty tasty.

#727 Erinnert mich an ein Helles der kuriosen Art: Zuerst leicht hopfig, dann zunehmend malzig-süßlich, meinetwegen auch Honig. Insgesamt ein Allerweltsbier! Test vom 2.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,9,8,9,9 - 8,95

[bottle] Sort of standard German pils aroma: fresh noble hops. Perhaps a note of honey. Almost clear brown-amber with a ginger ale-like fizziness that created a lasting bubbly white cover. Very strong hops flavour accentuated by a not quite crisp maltiness. This beer is not very bitter, but it is fairly dry, and so does not have a lot of residual sweetness that may need offsetting bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, clean finish. Very nice and only vague honey charasteristics.
