Cloudy apricot colored pour, white head. Sweet malty beer, apples, toasted grain, nail polish, something odd...ok beer but not exactly great.

Hazy orange pour with a white head. Really sweet and sugary. Some green apple, a bit of acetone, grass, and cardboard. Somewhat vegetal, caramel, and toasted bread. The flavor is sweet caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Green apple skin, a little acetone, and a little bit of cardboard. A little bit vegetal, herbal, and grass.

750 ml bottle from bevmo. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a small off-white head that slowly recedes away to a film. The aroma is muted with pears, peaches and something perfumy. The flavor is malts forward with caramel, biscuit, white fruits, dough and slightly nutty hops. The palate is thin and askew. The finish is short and unsatisfying. Overall: Not my cup-o-tea(or beer).

Bottle from BevMo Sacramento. Pours orange copper with a thin beige head and a frutiy aroma. There is a barnyard roasted malt flavor wth a hint of alcohol and a fruity finish.

Bottle from Marcus. Color is burnt amber. With white head. Aroma is sweet some Apple picked up. Taste is fruity with some roasted malt. Kinda booze picked up. Good brew.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours a burnt copper with little cream head. Aroma is toasted and raison. Flavor is roasted malt and fermented fruit. Slight heat. Best Hermitage I’ve ever drank!

29 sept 2012, bottle. Light copper, clear, no bubbles. Nose is barley wine malt and alcohol very rich an sweet. Med body and slightly fizzy. Sugary sweet malt and slight bitter finish. Faint blue cheese notes.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a tan head. Malt and caramel aroma with light citrus. Caramel and light spice flavor with light earthiness. Medium bodied. Caramel and light toffee linger with earth, light spice, and light citrus.

Capped 750 from the Folsom BevMo. Pours clear copper with some bubbly white head. Aroma is a bit suggestive of cola. Hard to dissect. Med body. Flavor is malty, somewhat sweet, with arguably noble hops. It moves towards bitter, and seems a little grassy earthy. It is somewhat spicy. It certainly isn’t what I expect in the style, but at 9% what should one expect? Certainly a little malt. Heat’s not an issue. It gets a bit herbal. As time goes on I think I may consider it balanced. And there’s some sort of woody/moldy aspect coming out. Don’t mean that in a bad way. Everything about this beer is "different", but it appeals to me. Maybe this was a collaboration with those brewers from Epic in Seattle. :)
