2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours hazy reddish orange with nice lasting white head. Aroma has notes of some soap, touch of iced tea, lemon, some citrus and caramel. Taste is a bit odd, some soap, tea, orange, touch of biscuit, finishing slightly bitter. Seemed old, but bet it was good fresh.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nose of butter, strong, popcorn butter, iced tea, caramel sweetness, and hints of hops - just generic hops. Pours darker amber, nice head, lace, clarity, really a nice looking beer. Buttery iced tea flavor, somewhat sweet at times, light peppery hops. Oily texture, something went wrong. Uh oh.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle pours hazy orange-gold with an off-white head. Aroma shows notes of stale bread, light hops, and cardboard. Flavor shows the same with a strange earthiness on top of it all.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Courtesy of hellbilly. Amber pour with minimal head. Aroma of light malt and stale hops. Flavor is the same, a bit sweet with some stale floral hops. Meh.

Amber pour. Awful aroma. Flavor is worse. Carboard, awful stale hops, dirt. Awful. awful.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
14-Dec-10 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 28-Jun-10 for $3.99 from BevMo in San Diego/Mission Valley, CA) Another BevMo exclusive from Hermitage Brewing, but unlike the beers in the "-topia" series, this one is actually pretty decent. Maybe that’s because the brewery’s name is emblazoned in large letters on this label! Malty flavors of dark chocolate and medium-dark toast, plus a fair amount of wood and earth are balanced by medium-bitter, grassy and leafy hops. The overall profile is like an India Brown Ale. Medium in body with moderate carbonation and a generally dry mouthfeel from entry to finish. Not especially aromatic and hops are very light, but the toasty and slightly caramely malt and general earthiness come out. The body is amber-brown in color and the beige head pours to a quarter inch before settling to a patchy film. Overall, this is surprisingly good for a BevMo beer, one of the few worth investigating.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from BevMo. Deep amber in color. Nose is somewhat sweet and bready. Some tropical fruit as well. Dry and bready flavors. Not real hoppy up front. Settles into a pretty tasty English type ale. The 8% is very well hidden. Certainly not a typical IPA. Still enjoyable enough.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50 cl bottle from BevMo - Pours a light brown color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Very light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt. That’s it. Odd for a Belgian Strong. Flavor is toasted malt and light perfume. Finish is malty with some lingering hop bitterness. Medium body. Alcohol is well hidden. However, this beer is no Belgian Strong Ale. A decent Amber/ English IPA though.
