2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jgb9348 (3497) - Arlington (Pentagon City), USA - JUN 14, 2011
Deep copper coloured body with a thick tan head and a nice bronze coloured tint - very nice looking, actually. Aroma of nice fresh yet light english hops, grass, hay, light malt and a touch of sweetness. Light-bodied; A touch of a peach or apricot flavour at first with some malt, a touch of caramel, some toffee and the faintest of hints of hops - not much at all though. Aftertaste is quite mild with some malt, a touch of toffee and not much else. Overall, a pretty bland and uninspired beer - definitely not an IPA, closer to an English Pale, but I think even that would be off quite a bit. Regardless, not really worth sampling, unless you came from across the country and wanted to pick up random beers. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in Walnut Creek, California on 19-March-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 14-June-2011.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bigbish (378) - Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2012
Pours a slightly cloudy amber/brown color, very thin head. I love the aroma that is coming off this beer. Very sweet and malty with a hint of raw grains. The flavor is similar. It has a nice malty sweet finish. My only complaint is that it’s fairly thin. I’d like a little more body for this type of flavor, it feels kind of watered down. A decent brew. Nothing to write home about.

Bottle. An unclear, dark amber beer with a quite small, light beige head. Piney, citrus-peelish aroma with caramel maltyness. Seems to be a bit old this one. Medium body, quite dry, with flavors of caramel malts, citrus peel and some, but not enough, bitterness. Bitterness and caramel in the finish. Not very interesting this one. Not bad, but just uninteresting. 111105

50cl bottle pours clear amber with copper hues and tan head. The aroma is an odd mix with sort of sour mash mixing with spicy oak followed by muted pine hops and aged malts. Hmm. The taste is a mix of grapefruit like hops, sour mash, spicy oak and then it gets a touch sweet with sugary maltiness. Into the finish mild fruity notes like a tangelo tang come to the surface.

bottle shared on 1/31/11 @ dak’s.
clear. amber with a small ow head.
odd nose... herbaceous, caramel, raisins, some pungent bitterness/wax and old malt powder.
it tastes like old malt powder as well... along with some stale vanilla, caramel-ish, flowers and a slight bitter hoppy finish.
it’s rather odd... not terrible but not good by any stretch. 5/3/5/3/11-
