COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Craft brewed in small batches with tons of hops. This will make you silly with hOppiness, like the jester on the bottle. The hop types remain a secret, but wouldn’t you expect that from a hermit?

"Hmmm. There’s a reason this was on sale. Mostly misses from this brewer, but I’m all for second (or 9th) chances. This one may have been around for a bit too long, but who knows. No bottle date. The sweetish malts play a more dominant role than i;d prefer with some grapefruit like bitterness and a decent flavor, but a pretty lacklustwer aroma for any kind of ipa, double or not."

Sample at Tied House. Hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Hops, pine and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, grainy malt and slight citrus. The finish is moderately bitter with a spruce and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Had at the Great Arkansas Beer Festival 2014. Pours a hazy orange. Lots of pine and some citrus. Some malty biscuit. Nice beer.

Dark Hazy Orange, Huge Foamy Head, Lots Of Lacing. Aroma of Caraway. Taste of Malt, Caraway, Hop Bitter Finish. Only half way through for a brief moment there was s standard IPA taste of Grapefruit and Pine. Medium Buttery Body. Read Some reviews before trying it, so I was anticipating bitter hop bomb but it was not. Just about right for me. Savored and enjoyed it. Recommended...

Big bitter hop bite and finish. For hopheads only probably, of which I consider myself, but I’d like to see the malt balance it out more for my tastes.

500ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white foamy soapy head that slowly rests and leaves a sticky lacing. Aroma is bitter and sweet with an abundance of caramel malt. Taste is bitter floral spicy hops and wraps into sweet caramel malt. Palate is full sticky and dry.

16.9 oz bottle 7/8/13 (Binny’s Naperville)-33° in Shaker-Pours a hazy orangish amber with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and malt. Taste of hops and malt. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

Found at Kenwood Homer Glen with a $3.50 Sale tag. Okay, why not. Slight bit of skunk right under the cap, changing to a hoppy smell as foam peeks over the edge. Kicks up a lot of foam, even refrigerated. Smell is mostly citrusy with some pine, maybe a tropical fruit kick of Nelson Sauvin. Still plenty of foam in my IPA tulip. Looks cloudy and orangey under that big head, which settles down into some kind of fire extinguisher foam. Taste is back to strong malt and citrus, with a backbone of mucho hop bitterness. Kind of nice in a hophead sense, but way overly bitter. I feel like there’s no reward for finishing this.

12ish oz bottle, from Bytemesis, smells really nice and orangey with a touch of citrus.. taste is okay, slightly bitter with solid malt presences.. almost too much malt for my taste.

500ml bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Pours a lightly hazed, golden orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, soapy lacing. Aroma is orange and grapefruit citruses with a good amount of grass and florals. Nice caramel malt backing with a moderate sweetness and a touch of toast. Flavor is similar. Lots of grassy citruses with a bunch of florals giving off some oranges, grapefruits, and a bit of a tropical note. A medium sweet, lightly toasted caramel provides a nice balance before this finishes dry and bitter, but well balanced. Lots of orange citruses and some tropical fruit linger with a pleasant caramel in a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a soft, somewhat creamy, moderate carbonation. Overall, a really well done DIPA. Bitter and fruity, but rounded with a nice caramel balance. Good beer.
